No more fans picking the head coach, please. That's what got us into this mess.

No matter what, Ehsan should get to finish out the regular season with respect and get a chance to pull a "miracle in Denton"

I'm a nobody but I feel like the AD isn't going to take action..maybe make him fire all the supporting cast in off season...i can't remember the contract terms though..
I'm sure people on here know the end date and buyout clause etc..

He has one more year and an $800,000 buyout I believe. I’m not a fan of in season firings unless something egregious happens, and losing games doesn’t qualify. He’s has had his chances though, and no matter what happens from here on he needs not return next year.

I think there's actually 2 years left on his contract after this season. Buyout is 400k/yr.

I'm afraid Ingram will go cheap - aka let him coach one more season (with only 1 yr left on his contract which is a recruiting death sentence) and if we have another bad year fire him then for 400k less.

AK is not my first choice and is probably too expensive. There is zero doubt that he is a huge upgrade and while I’m loathe to admit it UAB would be lucky to get him if he still has the desire.

I don't think there's a way to get to that point though. Ehsan is going to need a new contract this summer for recruiting. If you're not going to offer him an extension then you're setting him up to fail. It's not just high school kids that want to know he'll be there, but transfer portal kids aren't going to risk coming and sitting out a year if it looks like he's fired. It's costly, but I think this is the year it needs to be done.

You are correct, I can’t believe at any point that we decided to extend his initial contract.

The big issue is if UAB will be allowed to fire him. Making us keep a bad coach has been a preferred method of keeping us in our place. I have head multiple accounts of us being told we can’t fire a coach.

I renew my tickets every year at first opportunity. It is a thing my wife, grown sons and I look forward to. But after last night it seems like a waste and simply buying depression and frustration. There is only duty not joy in the game now. That gets old fast. Until recently we never never bought lottery tickets03-banghead. Now when we cross state lines we do...in hopes if we win we and can contribute enough to bring back some glory and fun our beloved game and school. Last night felt like a last straw and it kills me to say that.

Agreed on all sides, except for the lottery tickets.

It's time.

Hasn't this been more of a football thing than basketball? The only basketball coaches to be fired was Murry and Davis if I am correct. And Davis was fired for poor ticket sales and attendance as well as waning fan support and a history of disappointing performances in postseason action.

Yes we can buy him out this season if we chose.
Yes we can afford AK but not my first choice.
Yes Ingram will make the decision after the season
No the board will not interfere.
No there will be no in season termination. That’s just dumb to suggest.
No matter what the numbers say in budget we have the smallest recruiting budget in CUSA. Get ready to put your money where your mouth is if we want a top program.
Oh and we also need money to finish the practice facility. Get ready to open your wallets.
Basketball will not be the determining factor in conference realignment but it doesn’t need to be an anchor.

If we move on Ingram has to remember it isn’t enough to just win, we need to play an exciting brand of basketball. I’ll leave it at that.

I’ve emailed Ingram and said I’m ready to give to resurrect the program just like I did with football. It’s time.

Have any of y'all guaranteed to support the program more than you have under Haase or Ehsan?

I would be glad to support the program more than I have under Haase and Ehsan. Ehsan is awful and Haase wasn’t a very good coach either IMO

You mean continue to buy season tickets and show up? Yes, I do. I’ve done it for 20 years.

Our program is essentially dead. I’m asking for it to be resurrected. That usually requires money.
