He talked about the challenges of coaching during this time, the limitations the NCAA has put on staffs, his family, how this staff was put together and the offense and defense. Wood and Bruce Stewart were also on the call (they chimed in when possible), as well as various ODAF folks.

I'm sure he's mentioned it before but it was the first time I had heard it. But the offense will be in shotgun in pretty much all offensive scenarios. He explained he prefers the shotgun (including short yardage), since the handoff is happening 3 1/2 yards behind the LOS. While the handoff under center is happening 5 yards behind the LOS.

Ted also announced they'll be airing some classic ODU football and bball (m & w) starting next Thursday with the Chowan game.

That is something that I've stated on here several times. People harp on it. The only thing it eliminates is the QB sneak.

I don't expect the offensive system to be significantly different.

Doing things remote are possible, but you certainly lose some things.

Another nugget mentioned was the defensive scheme will remain a 4-2-5 but instead of having an extra safety or a LB, it'll be an extra corner. Though, I imagine they will be flexible on that since they have yet to have a single practice on the grass.

Was this advertised? I wish I could have seen it. I think we mainly had an extra corner in our 4-2-5 (hall). Situation will likely dictate it.

I was very pleased with the defensive scheme last year. It sounds like a lot of it will be similar. THere is a good article about West Virginia on the interwebs somewhere (from years ago) that goes into detail on how the 4-2-5 system was designed to stop Big 12 teams.

They actually did. They mentioned that ODU and CUSA is working with other conferences on scheduling agreements to make out of conference schedules for Olympic sports even more regional to save money.

I got the invite via email from ODAF last week. If you registered, they then sent out an email with the link to the zoom chat on Monday.

There were probably 15 fans at the most on the call. So I'm not sure if invites were sent to all who have renewed their pledges and season tickets or if it was just a select group of members.
