WBB showdown v UAB @ Tudor 7p Thurs
7pm tip at Tudor. Big matchup!
UAB is 7-3 in CUSA (winners of 6 in a row) , and Rice is 9-0 with a 28-game CUSA winning streak.

Here’s more, cross posted from the conference board:

Five of those can continue tonight, but two of the three teams with the longest streaks face off and something’s gotta give.
UAB takes its 6-game streak to Rice to kick off the “meat” of the Owls’ schedule. Rice’s current 9-game streak only includes wins against two teams in the top half of the standings (WKU & UTEP). So tonight should provide a true test for both squads. UAB started 1-3 before their current streak, but that one win was the only loss suffered so far by ODU.
Lest we forget, Rice has not lost a conference game since a March, 2018 loss to UAB in the CUSA tourney in Frisco. 28 wins later, the Blazers travel to Tudor Fieldhose to avenge their loss last year in Birmingham.

Fun Fact: Rice scored 55 points in each of its last two games with UAB (Frisco was a 12 point Blazer win, and Last year was a 12 point Rice win. The last time these two met in Houston, UAB won by only 9, in yet another game where Rice scored 55.

Winning Streaks...

Really important two games tonight and Saturday. UAB ranks 4th in the country in 3-point scoring and shooting percentage. Perimeter defense will be key. On offense, we need to dramatically cut the number of silly turnovers, and have someone (in addition to Erica and Nancy) step up.

According to RealTimeRPI, Rice is the 5th best team in C-USA and #99 in the country: UAB is 6th and #110.

Tonight's women's game is on ESPN3 ... the men's on ESPN+. I'll try to get both going in separate windows, if concurrent streams are allowed. (There won't be much time/screen space for posting on Parliament, however.)

Go Owls!!!
