UTSA
Thursday 7:00 at the Ted: UTSA (10-13, 4-6 CUSA). ESPN+

Results to date OOC: Oklahoma (67-85); S Illinois (60-72); Oakland (62-75); Delaware (79-91); Utah St (50-82); Wiley College (90-68); Prairie View A&M (72-79); TAMU-CC (89-67); Texas St (77-71); UT-Permian Basin (98-55); Oregon St (78-88); Illinois St (89-70); Our Lady of the Lake (99-64)

Last game: In was a game of runs… UTSA opened the game 11-2, but trailed by 15 late in the half and by 12 at HT. Early in the second half a 9-0 run cut the deficit to 2 with 15:00 to play, but MTSU answered with a 13-0 run to again lead by 15 before UTSA rallied to tie the game at 80 with 0:11 only to watch MTSU ice the game at the FT line.
Jhivvan Jackson scored 32 pts (12-25 FG, 3-8 3s, 5-5 FT) and Wallace Keaton 22 (7-16 FG, 4-9 3s, 4-6 FT).

CUSA stats: 79.5 pts (vs 80.0); .454 FG (.385 3s); .761 FT; -0.9 RB; A/TO= 1.0

Starters
F Byron Frohen (6-6 230 Sr). 27.3 min.; .500 FG; .563 FT; 7.4 RB; 4.7 pts
F Luka Barisk (6-10 240 Jr). 20.6 min.; .484 FG (21-61 3s); .769 FT; 2.7 RB; 8.3 pts
G Erik Czumbel (6-3 185 Fr). 21.6 min.; .385 FG (24-56 3s); 1.000 FT; 0.9 RB; 3.1 pts
G Keaton Wallace (6-3 185 Jr). 36.9 min.; .446 FG (61-179 3s); .727 FT; 4.6 RB; 2.7 assists; 1.1 steals; 21.4 pts

F Atem Bior (6-7 225 Sr). 18.0 min.; .514 FG (6-11 3s); .667 FT; 4.2 RB; 4.6 pts
C Jacob Germany (6-11 220 Fr). 11.8 min.; .720 FG; .500 FT; 2.6 RB; 4.1 pts

Play fast, shoot often- repeat. UTSA started 0-5 with Wallace attempting to play PG. UTSA then went 10-6 after Czumbel inserted at PG before 2 home losses last week as UTSA’s interior was exposed (out-rebounded 58-82).

UTSA is #1 in pts/g and 3s/g in CUSA play; #2 in 3% and #4 FG%. However, they are #14 in pts/g allowed.

Jhivvan Jackson is #1 CUSA in pts/g (#2 NCAA), 3s/g and 3X POW.
Keaton Wallace is #2 CUSA in pts/g and 3s/g.
Erik Czumbel will hit open 3s, but otherwise little threat to score.

I fear that this game in particular is one for which we are going to miss having Wade.

RE: UTSA
A little off topic but the unwavering Thursday, Saturday conference scheduling blows. A game earlier in the week sure would liven up the dreary winter and I see NO benefit to C-USA NCAAT results.

Unfortunately with the spread out conference, it makes way more sense to do it like this.

Yeah, if you think the UTSA/UTEP swing is bad, try either a) making it a five-day trip instead of a three-day one, or b) separate trips for both.

I agree but it's to minimize the amount of missed class time for the students. It does make the beginning of the work week extra long feeling though.

Game day. Bring your umbrella (and let's hope that it's not raining 3's).

I'm good with the Thursday/Saturday setup too. I just wish the men and women didn't play on the same nights. Move the women to Friday/Sunday and let us have four games in four days one weekend and then a weekend off.

RE: UTSA
It stinks if you have something going on Thursday nights every week...makes you miss a lot of games. Wouldn't mind the weeknight changing between Wednesday/Thursday. I understand that is very difficult with the travel though.

I don’t mean that it stinks for me personally but I think it stinks for our players. This conference scheduling is extremely hard on our players.

Wouldn't Saturday/Monday actually minimize missed classes?

IDK? I'd assume one travel day to and away at least so currently leave Wed and Come back Sunday? As opposed to Leave Fri and come back Tues. Both your missing 3 days.

Sparse crowd. I hope it fills in. Weather might have something to do with it.
