That is great news! I was worried he was going to go somewhere where he didn’t have to be known as little fish.

That's really good, I like Robert E. Lee, Phoenix City, Oplkia, Niceville,Fl and like finding the Diamond from Jasper and them Ozark and Enterprise players. If they can make the Grades.

He is still not listed among the signees on the UAB announcement, but this was his tweet from yesterday, for whatever it's worth:

RE: Signing Day
Brady Wilson of Spanish Fort signed today but nothing official from UAB. I’m guessing UAB is either waiting to announce a few signees at once or everyone else will be classified as blue shirts:

Brady Wilson (Spanish Fort)
Jamari Smith (Robert E Lee)
Dacarrian McWilliams (Pine Forest, FL)
AJ Davis (Maryville, TN)
Kadeem Telfort (JUCO)

Likely non-scholarship - Reese Burkhardt & Chase Perry

Could someone give a short definition of the different shirt colors? Dr. McCoy wore a blue shirt but I don't think that's the same thing.

Blueshirt basically means he counts against next years 25 limit. To make it work everyone has to wink at each other and pretend that the kids who received blueshirts were not recruited but instead just showed up and enrolled in the school as a regular student and then decided to play football, being immediately awarded scholarships.

As long as he's not a red shirt he should be okay.

I can’t remember the author’s name off the top of my head but he wrote a book called Red Shirts that’s amusing

RE: Signing Day
Sure would be nice to have a story on al.com about UAB's recruiting class.Only one player was announced today but there are plenty of questions that can be asked. Really poor lack of effort.

So a Rick Stansbury recruit, but without the bag of cash. Got it.

Thanks for all the clarifications.

I don't ever remember Scottie beaming down to a planet. Not saying that he didn't, I just can't remember an episode that he did...lol.

John Scalzi. His "Old Man's War" is freaking great.
