FB Signing Day, Part 2
Today is another football signing day. Post any interesting updates here. Rice had 17 December scholarship signees, and will sign probably another half dozen or so today?

Our first surprise signee this morning is Gabe Taylor, a 3-star DB out of Gulliver Prep in Miami. He's also the younger brother of former NFL star, the late Sean Taylor. We're probably also going to sign at least 1 more graduate transfer (a kicker from Stanford), and at least one JUCO player.

Really like the Gabe Taylor signing. He didn't really play football in high school until his senior year, but put up some great numbers. He's a heck of an athlete, and if he's anything like his brother, he will be a fantastic player for Rice. The biggest question mark with Gabe is his size, as he's probably only 5'8", which is small for a DB.

RE: FB Signing Day, Part 2
If Recruiting is is the Life Blood of College Football; MT desperately needs a transfusion! So far this year and consistently over the last several years Coach Stock and his band of Merry Men have failed to sign any notable In State Athletes. Think our last "Dandy Dozen: from TN or "Mr Tennessee" player signed as a freshman was Benny Cunningham about 10 years ago. Come on Raiders, dang it.

Our new coach is making ODU faithful optimistic with his recruiting so far, at the very least raise an eyebrow. Might, for the first time I can recall, actually have multiple local products staying and more 3* recruits than we've ever had, ever. I'm cautiously optimistic. Seems to be some hype.

I believe North Texas is set to sign at least two highly recruited late qualifiers that held big-time offers. If we land them, I'll post it.

Good get for y'all. For some reason I didn't think y'all took JUCOs with your academic standards, but it is great that y'all do.

RE: FB Signing Day, Part 2
Charlotte bagged this guy last night. Three star RB from Georgia with tons of offers.

https://247sports.com/player/elijah-turner-46055450/

To demonstrate how terrible a recruiter Brad Lambert was, Charlotte last season had 20 (yes, just 20 three stars) three stars and a four star on the roster. Healy recruited six of those three stars and the four star.

Charlotte is losing 6 three's and the four star from the 19 team.

In Healy's first real recruiting cycle, Charlotte has landed 16 high school and juco three stars, as well as four FBS transfers including two time 1000 yard running back Tre Harbison, from Northern Illinois and linebacker Derek Boykins from South Carolina.

Also, eligible this season after sitting in 2019, is DB Tyler Murray who was a third team Sun Belt guy from Troy.

There should be 19 additional three stars on the roster in August.

I would imaging that Charlotte would add a transfer or two this summer.

FAU also landed a former 4-star FSU recruit, DT Malcolm Lamar. He will have to sit out a year, I believe (correct me if I am wrong)

RE: FB Signing Day, Part 2
FIU had a pretty good day today. Signed 6 more guys, all of which were rated as 3 star prospects by all of 247 Sports, ESPN, and Rivals (even though many have yet to be accounted for by 247 and Rivals). So there's that for which service you prefer...

Some were previously committed to P5 programs (AJ Mathis to Miami and Joe Perkins to Colorado).

1) AJ Mathis - LB
2) Joe Perkins - DB
3) Jamal Potts - DB
4) Jacoryan Davis-Hamilton - ATH
5) Chance Coleman - LB
6) EJ Wilson - RB

North Texas has added highly recruited 3 star DE Jonathan Pickett. Pickett also held offers from West Virginia, Arizona State, Vanderbilt, BYU, Utah State, and UNLV.

More signings could be coming....

That is a player I wish UNT could have signed. The Taggart hire is paying off at FAU. What is FAU paying Taggart?

Less than Lane but he got a huge payday from FSU and wanted to use more money for his coaching pool. If he is successful, expect a new contract.

With only two schollies left, I imagine we are looking at transfers for those last spots. I imagine Pickett was our last commit today.

I hope you are right. We have some spots that need immediate attention.

Word is North Texas could be in line to sign one more big-time recruit tonight.

We had a kid a few years ago from West Monroe pick us over Stanford - Xavier Woods and he now starts at safety for the Cowboys.

This kid was our 2nd choice at QB this year and picked our first target JD Head in the early period. Time will tell how these kids pan out

I’m sure some Tech receivers wouldn’t even sniff special teams on Clemson
