Mini ice age coming
https://in.mashable.com/science/11043/ea...the-planet

You couldn't get this published in the US. Its from India.

Its actual science. The cultists will blame extreme cold on global warming, but its a natural cycle.

"...Solar minimums are part of the Sun's natural life cycle and occur once every 11 years. However, 2020's minimum is going to be a special case. That's because it marks the start of a rare event known as a Grand Solar Minimum, in which energy emitted from the Sun plummets down even more than usual. These only occur once every 400 years or so.

As per Northumbria University expert Valentina Zharkova, the icy spells and wet summers could be around until 2053, when solar activity picks up again...."

Well that sucks. That's the rest of my life and I hate cold weather. Have toyed with the idea of moving to the Carribean, may have to do it. Should probably do it sooner than later as I can see significant home appreciation in those areas.

Just ******* great.

I moved to Northern Michigan last year because due to global warming we were promised that we’d have all of the remaining fresh water and a temperate climate...I was also promised that this was moving from a USDA Zone 4 to a Zone 6 or 7...going to have to rethink my garden now.

Ive said for years that if you look at the history of the world---assuming climate is going to be the thing to threatens our way of life---then it is far more likely that the weather threat will be an ice age---not global warming.

If we have an ice age Mississippi will feel like Quebec. That just won't do, but maybe I'll stop in on my way south.

If true, this could dramatically effect the food supply.

True...and humanity will be blamed for the oversight as well. And they might have a point because of the current obsession of eliminating GMO's.

Well if true, I would welcome some cooler Texas winters and summers. I guess we will find out this summer so no need to wait much on this prediction. But it’s just one more scientific study/prediction and most of the others are hogwash, right?

BTW, I predicted Trumps one nod to climate change last night (planting trees). In fact, I wrote the White House a week ago with an idea how they could implement this plan.

No. They would become inland losers like the majority of us.

RE: Mini ice age coming
If this is true, then kiss the novelty of organic farming goodbye. For any chance of the world to still produce close to the same levels of food that it does currently, we would need all of the best GMO seeds and designer fertilizers we can get our hands on. Most likely that would be a losing battle. And most likely a much higher percentage of us would have to figure out a way to accommodate some type of smallish greenhouse and/or hydroponic systems to help augment our food supply since prices at the supermarkets would double or triple. The U.S. would be fine overall I think - ethanol production from corn would go away completely - but many other parts of the world would starve.
