Chief's HC Andy Reid: "It's quite an honor" on visit to Trump White House
How refreshing to have a coach and player excited to visit the Trump White House after their big win. This on top of LSU's team and coaches great visit to the WH earlier.

Quote:Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid confirmed that he'll visit the White House after winning the first Super Bowl of his career Sunday.

"I mean, I'll be there," Reid said after Sunday's 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers, per TMZ Sports. "If they're inviting us, I'll be there. It's quite an honor."

.....

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman indicated before the game he would turn down a visit if his team had won.

"We've got a long way between now and then, but I doubt it," the veteran said, per Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle.

However, the Chiefs have seemingly been more welcoming to the idea.

"That would be great to go to the White House," receiver Tyreek Hill said after the game, per Herbie Teope of the Kansas City Star. "I've never been to (Washington) D.C., so that would be great."

"Any time we get the opportunity to represent Kansas City the right way, represent our teammates the right way, I don't see any wrong in that," safety Tyrann Mathieu said last week, per Mike Rosenstein of NJ.co
m.

This likely adds up to the Chiefs becoming the first NFL team to visit Trump in three years.

Could you imagine had anyone snubbed the WH during the last guy's terms?

This is why I was rooting for KC in the Super Bowl. Andy Reid is awesome... and one of their players had the balls to show up in a Trump shirt. They also piss off liberals with their tomahawk chop. What's not to like?

I don't think last year was a political thing. TB12, BB, and Kraft are all huge Trump supporters

No I don't.. That's why I made the statement. I don't recall a team or athlete refusing to go.. If you got a link, please by all means prove me wrong.

Matt Birk, Tim Thomas, multiple members of the 1972 Dolphins team (Obama invited them for the 40th anniversary), Tony LaRussa, Albert Puljois, James Harrison, and every NASCAR winner during his term. I'm sure there are others but those are on top of my head. Tim Thomas was the only one that drew a ton of media attention though as I think it was an election year.

Not sure where you got this from, but it's not even remotely true.

And to the OP, Reid said it was an honor to visit the White House, not the trump White house. Besides, it's our house, he just happens to live there. 03-wink

Why would anyone turn down an offer to the WH and to meet the POTUS?

Petty politics or simple virtue signaling? Rare honor if you ask me.

RE: Chief's HC Andy Reid: "It's quite an honor" on visit to Trump White House
Honestly, those people that hate Trump and wouldn't want to be in his presence and shake his hand are within their rights. Personally, I disliked Oblunder a great deal and I wouldn't want to go the WH in his term. That would be my right. I really, really disliked this character and still to this day I can't stomach his face.

So sorry to be like a Lib in this regard.

Like a friend said, "the Bible said not to hate anyone but it didn't say we had to like them".

RE: Chief's HC Andy Reid: "It's quite an honor" on visit to Trump White House
I have said before that I would not have visited the White House if, say, the number 16 women's collegiate rugby team had been invited during the Obama years. As I've said before, my position would have been that it is not proper to tell the president of the USA to go f*** himself, and I really couldn't think of anything else to say. I would probably go to the Trump White House, not because I like him, but because I do hold him in higher regard than I did Obama. I could think of other things to say to him.
