I think Landers can squeeze 9K in for a basketball game. And that's plenty big enough considering that there won't be nada at the AAC games in FW.

I can't go this year ... But just curious if you can step out of the arena and into a choice of bars and restaurants ... Like the FEF (can't beat it).

If Landers can fit 8K+ for BB, given the Memphis area is much better for attendance, I think it would be great for the AAC, the Memphis area & our university. Had it ever been considered?

FEF would never let that happen anyway.

Just play it there.

Landers is the definition of mediocre.

What I hate is that there are dozens of business sponsorships at FedEx Forum or for Tiger sports from good restaurants (Wing Guru, Huey's, Half Shell, Patrick's, Jets Pizza, Central BBQ, Sunrise, etc.) and yet you cannot find one decent thing to eat during a Tiger game. Does anyone know why the food is so terrible? There at least used to be a few decent options like Rock & Dough, then Jets, and Lenny's used to sell sandwich boxes and soup.

It’s pretty expensive for those companies to set up shop at the forum and the prices usually reflect this. When the guru was at the forum it was about $15 for a 6 piece boneless (or bone in depending on your tastes) and fries and extra for a drink.

AAC wants to get away from home floors for the tourney - hence Dickie Arena rather than SMU. Memphis won't likely be considered in the future as a permanent site for the tourney unless it's NOT FedEx Forum. And legally FedEx & the city of Memphis wouldn't have jurisdiction to say no. But 7-9K is about all that's needed for the AAC tourney to look full on TV, put some pressure on ticket sales, generate a higher overall attendance - and yet give the Memphis area a good option to attend live. If I lived in the Memphis area, I'd be pushing for consideration for Landers.

Landers Center could be cool as it's easy access to both Tunica casinos and Memphis entertainment like Graceland, Beale, etc but could the Desoto County Tourism/CVB put together a bid that isn't laughable compared to a city like Ft Worth?

Here is a little Fort Worth Trivia with a Univ of Memphis basketball twist. Alice Walton is the richest person in Fort Worth.
Alice has certainly benefited from the Wal-Mart effect and now has an estimated net worth of $51.4 billion, Alice Walton is also the richest person in Texas.

Ike has been to Billy Bob's and I must say I highly recommend stopping in for a look see.
This joint is indescribable, u have to visit it to see how awesome it is. All in all I had a good time in ft worth
Good steak houses, plenty of places to buy exotic cowboy boots, I purchased a lovely pair of Lavender ostrich
Boots that I only wear to concerts or high stepping dances and occasional singing performances.
However, bring yo wallet because these custom boots aren't cheap. I believe George Jones bought his
Baby Blues from this establishment.
Also pay a visit to TCU, beautiful campus with a great OCS that allowed us to watch the team practice.
Be prepared for a LARGE TIME IN FT WORTH

That place will be Koch Arena south for the next 3 years during this tournament. Wichita St will pretty much fill the building up when they play. Its only a 5 hr drive. I'd like to think if we took 25,000 to Cotton Bowl, we could get 2-3K for this tournament. This will be like the old Metro days when Memphis and Louisville fans made up the bulk of the crowds except red will be black and yellow. Houston, SMU, and Tulsa should bring a decent # of fans this year being that they have competitive teams, but they wont.
