RE: 2020-2021 Tribe Football
Now that covid vaccines are starting to be administered to older Virginians, a key demographic for W&M sports fans, is there any thought of differentiating between vaccinated and unvaccinated fans at games?

I can't imagine they would. If fans are allowed to attend, vaccine or no vaccine, I'd expect them to enforce distancing and mask rules and not make some special section.

RE: 2020-2021 Tribe Football
Older fans in Williamsburg/JCC have little hope of getting the vaccine in time for a season of football.
Most of us will likely be dead before the vaccine is available.
Riverside and Sentara have already announced they will not give us the vaccine if
our primary physician is not one of their own.
Does this leave out everyone with a doctor associated with TPMG?
Local pharmacies have little information on availability.
If anyone knows how an age eligible person can get a shot, please let us know.
I would have little fear of attending games after receiving the first shot.

Maybe try going through the county's health department. I'm not in VA but that's how I'll register once it's available to my demographic.

VA currently ranks 49th nationally in number of shots.
So proud to be ahead of 50th Kansas.
The progressive state of West VA is number 2. It's almost heaven just over the mountain.

It will be interesting to see if the season will still be played this spring with the continued spread of Covid 19. The probably of a positive tests among 100-130 athletes and staff seem very high causing the obvious quarantine of others.

Think they have to at least try. Would be really unfair to the kids to not even give them a chance.

Agree, it depends on who decides-the teams, the administration, the CAA, or the various states!

There's a schedule on our web site and until something changes, I expect us to play six games against JMU, Elon, and Richmond. I don't know how they would be cancelled now unless basketball and other sports are shut down.

Looks like all 23 sports will be playing this semester unless I missed something.

On the news it was just announced that vaccines will be pushed to the pharmacies around the middle of this month. If we have received both shots, we should raise hell to attend football games. Impeach Northam if he stands in the way?

Here's a pretty good primer on how things will get back to normal, and the timeframe we should be expecting.

https://www.vox.com/future-perfect/22219...ng-masking

Short answer: recommendations right now are to continue social distancing and masking until roughly 75-85% of the population is vaccinated.

This probably should be on the Covid thread though I registered my mother, 93 years old, with help from people on this board, the link provided over a week ago. It was for Henrico County. It’s been over a week with no response while my niece and her husband, both Henrico County teachers, received vaccines last week. I’m not aware that they are going back to classroom teaching anything soon or even support doing so.

This seems very familiar with the news on Fairfax County. Teachers getting top priority with no apparent desire to go back into a classroom until children are vaccinated.

This will be criminal in my mind if the State uses most of their vaccines on public officials while the elderly are left primarily ignored.

I agree with you that seniors should all be vaccinated before anyone else. I don't think that you can say that anyone is getting priority right now though, because there is not enough organization for there to be priority. Quite frankly, the vaccine rollout in Virginia is a cluster*.

The State mandated yesterday that at least 50% of future vaccine be given to folks 65 and older and pharmacy distribution.
At least we have two steps in the right direction.

Let's do everyone a favor and keep racially-sensitive comments away from here. You...we...can make our points without diluting them with hot political spin.

And also probably "stick to sports" on this thread. Thanks to whoever quoted/replied my post over to the COVID thread where it belonged.
