Zorch's Bromance Thread
I think this is the most important remaining game of the year, for three reasons:
1. We need to right the ship. Team has been starting very slowly in all the recent losses and does not seem to have a coherent (and winning) offensive philosophy. AVV and Scott are in deep slumps and Barnes/Hamilton/Hermanovskis/Blair are not the ones who can replace their offensive firepower. Need to get confidence back now.
2. We can't afford to slide down into the middle of the pack, seeding-wise. There is a certain cachet to being the #1 seed -- and we want that. Beating CofC, in Charleston, will send a message to the rest of the league that we are still the team to beat.
3. Tiebreakers. Sweeping CofC is crucial not only to have the tiebreaker over them but it is also crucial to have as a tiebreaker over Hofstra. Hofstra already lost to CofC once so, at best, they would get a split. So in any tiebreaker scenario with Hofstra, our having a sweep over the supposed next best seed (or perhaps even top seed) would allow us to pass Hofstra. Towson could possibly factor into this, as well, which is why we also really need to beat them to gain a split. However, I think that they will end up lower in the pecking order than CofC so our record against them is not as crucial.
Sure, we need this one bad. But the team needs to remember that CofC wants it bad, too.

I think a win here would be a gift. I hope we get it.

Winning at CoC is critical.
Do not take Towson lightly as we play at their house 2/20 and they have a favorable schedule

We can't take anyone lightly. Are we kidding ourselves? This team is not performing well, and Nate's visual and visceral frustration from last weekend says a lot. We need to bear down and play hard every minute. This is an important coaching week for Fischer. Let's hope he keeps the team focused on success.

Charleston tweeted that 11 NBA teams will have scouts, which the record for a game there. It would be interesting if the scouts had to publicly vote after the game on whether they would rather draft Riller or Knight.

This is a great opportunity tonight to step up for the Tribe. I hope that Andy and Thornton are able to let the game come to them more and play with in themselves. GO TRIBE!

Pivotal. Drop a 3rd in 4 games, and we're looking up wondering if we'll have a shot to make it to game 2 of the CAAT. Win, and we'll make a statement and hang on to hope that this team can make a push for a top 3 seed.
That's how I see it, anyway. We need momentum and we need to see a heck of a lot more out of guys not named Nathan Knight.

RIGHT ON !!! The CoC game is bigger for them ,than us. They have Hofstra and NE left to play , on the road.

This is the toughest game we have left. Teeing this up as a must or critical win is not reality.
I’m less concerned if we win tonight, more so on how we compete. If we move back to earlier level, we can make a run starting here or after this one.

Oh good, someone else who *thinks* those who hold a different opinion are unrealistic. Messageboards.

Right, because you are the judge of whether you insult someone. Got it.

MBB Game # 25 - Charleston
I’m excited for tonight’s game. Feels like the 2nd big “test” after some consecutive poor performances (the 1st one being around the St Joe’s game). I’m not expecting us to win - hope we do - but care far more about how much we compete. Need AVV plus one other (anyone) to have one of their better games of the season. Go Tribe!

Lineup change:
Hamilton getting the start over Scott.

Some of us are sad that Huge doesn’t read this board, but Dane apparently does
In all seriousness, I hope this helps Scott get back on track. He’s one of our 5 best players and we need him playing like it soon!
Go Tribe!

We need to take some of Scott's minutes and give it to Ayesa - he has played terrible the past few weeks with tons of dumb turnovers. Give his minutes to somebody that has earned them

RE: MBB Game # 25 - Charleston
Well, that was hurtful. The Charleston announcer said we were not very good (very athletic) in one on one play (on offense), so advantage to Charleston.
I'd argue with him, ...if I could.
5 turnovers in the past 3 1/2 minutes...
