Wow. Either great minds think like or coincidence plays a bigger role in the universe.
Last night I was putting together a list of no-cost and low-cost ideas to pass along on the advisory board thread, and that was #2 on my list (not finished yet). Even Hammock has promo'd the quality of the business school, and the business school has had several radio spots during Huskies games. It occurred to me that if business can use an athletics event to promo, why not the reverse?
The whole internship, practical experience, resume-building thing is part of it. I was, however, trying to also think up some kind of grant availability for materials, but as epasnoopy pointed out, there are departments that already have that. I was just looking for a grant for faculty stipends, etc.
Bottom line: if athletics isn't going to do it, there are plenty of other campus resources and opportunities. What about communications/social media to manage the official website (and maybe stay on top of things as well as proof-read out all the errors), foster links to all those social media everyone here is talking about, handle some kind of robo-calling for changes (like the Friday mbb game).
NIU has plenty of resources. Stupid not to use them.
The easiest thing to do is cut (see cheerleaders). It takes initiative and a desire to move forward to come up with real solutions.

With the band the silverettes and cheerleaders at the game it ads so much to the atmosphere! Also 7 said leave the cheer coach alone believe me if you’ve seen her instagram today she definitely wants the attention!
