I appreciate those of you who support the Huskies in person and with your wallets. Wish I could have been there. Go Huskies and beat the Rockets and whoever the Lady Huskies play.

Time for a coach to get us to mediocre, I say!

And I don't care where we may be in standings. I am looking at the product on the court-- and the players in the pipeline. Where are we going?

It is legit to argue we made it to mediocre, if you want. But we have not made it to good, and, sorry, I don't see it in the near future.

But, Go Huskies! Yes we can.

They won by 15!

Chihuskie needs to take a chill pill. We won in blowout fashion!

Post-game stats are not up yet on the NIU website, but Miami-O website has them. Attendance 1,492. Is that a home game season high?

That was a great game to be at. German got a standing O when he broke the record, another at the next time out, and another when he left the game late because it was a blowout. Well deserved. Glad I bought a program (more like a roster list) for the game. On a nice drive to the basket, too.

Then with the shot clock running down he hit a 3 to go to 2000 points. Really glad I was there.

Also, Lacey James played like he was going to get the rebound and nobody was going to stop him. We'll totally miss him next year.

They should beat Toledo and keep it going. Nice to see a good margin for a W. Win that one and season is starting to look pretty decent.

RE: MBB Redhawks @ Huskies
Defense held Redhawks to 34.5% which seemed right.
Huskies shot 46.3% which seemed high, For a long time it seemed we couldn't make any shots. Must have been the late run to bring stats up.
We seemed to get the break (which is unusual) on calls from refs and gained a lot at the foul line. We scored 32 points in the paint but missed a lot of gimmies. This is something we need to improve on to keep the wins adding up.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree NIU got the benefit of the doubt on foul calls. Which seems to be normal for home games.

I'm with Chihuskie. Holy Cross losing to Colgate as the lead-in was more interesting and had a better atmosphere that the NIU-Miami game. Quite frankly, our game was boring. Miami not only struggled, but they are a legitimate East Division bottom-feeder that held its own for over a half. To think NIU needed a second-half surge was depressing. Too many Huskies play with no heart, hustle, or court vision. Thankfully, the RedHawks did worse. All this program has done under Monty in nine years is gone form doormat to maybe a tad above mediocrity. Eugene German clearly is a talented player, but he simply has compiled the most points thanks to longevity and diminished opposition. Aside from his numbers, he wouldn't make my all-time NIU line-up of the school's very best basketball players.
As for those questioning the cheerleaders, the Silverettes, pep band, marketing, etc., all of that continues to nose-dive because of an administration that is also lacking heart and vision. The definite plus to watching the game was the ease to flip to a more interesting channel, have better and more convenient food and drink, plus no bathroom line.

Chihuskie doesn’t need a “chill pill”. You and 7 may need a “reality pill”.

Read what he wrote. He’s 100% correct.

Try this exercise. Who are next years starting 5? Then come up with the next 2 solid subs any successful team needs off the bench. After you’ve done that chihuskie will accept your apology.

57, you are completely wrong about German. He’s the number 1 scorer because he’s scored around 20pts in every game he’s played. He’s by far no one else even in the picture put in more work on his game than anybody who ever played here. Diminished opposition my ass! The MAC has been as strong as ever during his tenure here. The kid just accomplished something great can’t you just let it be ok? Geez!

The Huskies won by 15 on a national stage and German set a record (and will add to it). Let’s take a couple days at least to enjoy this. We need to relish these moments because there have been so few of them. Today, I’m looking forward to watching my recording of the game.

Yeah, REALLY. Geez! We are 6-3 in MAC play. Gino JUST became the all-time leading point scorer in NIU's 125 year history. We just beat a MAC team by 15 points. And nattering nabobs of negativity swarm this board like a plague of locusts.
Here is some reality: we are what we are. MM is the coach and the players we have are the players we have. We are 6-3 in MAC play. NOT looking far into the future where we will all be dead, but looking at the rest of THIS season we have 9 games left. 5 of the 9 games are against MAC bottom dwellers. I am looking forward to the CMU rematch at home. We have beat 2 top MAC teams on the road! We could go 11-7!!! Could we please be allowed to enjoy this moment in time!
Thank you Eugene German for 4 years of enjoyment and excitement.

So tired of seeing guys on here crying and moaning, yet they never even go to games. Your opinion is invalid. Anybody saying German isn’t a all time NIU line up player has completely lost 1 too many marbles.

Yeah my gosh we have 364 days to get on the NIU bball program and its direction. I am as critical of it as anyone. Doing it on a day German becomes NIUs leading scorer, NIU extends to 4 game conf win streak just makes you look like a troll and a hater. And yes the diminished opposition remark is simply ridiculous
