Looking to buy tickets for final game at Convo against the Tribe. Which sections are behind the JMU bench where no one is usually sitting?

Really contributes to the bad look on TV/Madizone/FloSports broadcasts.

This has always driven me crazy. Hope this is taken care of in the new arena. People need to be in those seats!

I'm not real sure how much they can do about it unfortunately cause I'm 99% sure the seats are sold(as season tickets) but people just don't show. That's our favorite place to sit, but the last few reseatings they've been long gone by the time we get to pick our seats. I guess they could tell everyone to sit wherever they want as long as the actual ticket holder doesn't ask them to move, but you know how some people are about things like that and I don't see that happening.

One other thing that could be part of the issue, some of those are probably going to sponsors. Back when we sat on the second row behind the bench, I'm pretty sure the whole first row belonged to Consumers Auto Warehouse and there was one guy and his kid who would actually use two of the tickets maybe half the time. The rest always went unused, even for the few games that were actually pretty packed like VCU or GMU. Of course if that's the case, again that's something they can't really do anything about mid-season.

Men's Finale at the Convo Feb 22 Versus W&M
Been a bif since long ago.

Yes, they are corporate/sponsor/faculty/ long term seat holders. And they really haven’t shown up consistently for 30 years.

Why the seat nazis won’t just let someone fill them until booted out by late arrivers has always mystified me.

I think we’re gonna trek on down for one last kiss goodbye to the beloved convo, take our daughter to her first MBB game...

This is going to be a fun game. I hope it is packed. Energize our team with your attendance.

Really wish I could attend this game in person.

Lots of happy memories of games in the convocation center when I lived in the Valley ('86-'97).

Was surprised the Convo is 38 years old. My first game there was for the conference tournament after the '83/'84 season. At the time, I had no idea I would be moving to Harrisonburg 2 years later.

I still can't wrap my head around athletic facilities that my fandom predates their construction being considered obsolete.

Either we scrap things before there time, or I am really old.

Overlooking Thursday a little bit here...

Who has decided to go to this one? Can't make Thursday but I'll buy a ticket for Saturday and head to the game.

Apathy I must admit at all time high. From someone that attended many a game in Godwin under the great leadership of Campanelli,it pains me to see how the MBB program has regressed over the decades. Like many of you, am hoping the new arena will bring salvation-but am not holding my breath. At least the WBB was a winning program in the venue.
Good riddance Convo.

What is impressive is that the program still has an all-time winning record at 665-647 even after Rowe had 4 straight losing years, Keener had 4 straight losing years, and Dillard had 4 straight losing years.

I will be at the final Convo game and remembering the good old days while trying not to be disgusted with Rowe’s ineptitude.

Here's a request for somebody with some time to kill at work: compile the W-L record for the MBB program at the Convocation Center over the last 38 years. Then do it for the WBB program.

I will be there with JMU John and two other friends. We will stay as long as it is competitive but definitely through the first half. I imagine there will be some halftime events worth watching.

I attended the first game played in the Convo and will be there for the last.

I never attended a JMU game in Godwin but played in three high school district finals there. Sadly, we never won a district finals.

The college court felt so much larger than my high school gym. Gave me an appreciation for the conditioning of college players.

AssyrianDuke: At this point I don't think we can call them new. But the point is they moved forward as a business. I think that's my point. Sure let's go with it.

Every time he posts it, I just don't get who he thinks he's proving something to. Who is the person on the board saying men's basketball is doing well or is well-attended? It's the one thing we're all on the same page on.

Who cares? It's just a building that at one time showed signs of life, then became a pathetic relic, and is now a mausoleum. The show is over. Let's move on.
