Here's Byrd's Hudl video. He is maybe the most versatile player I have seen in a while. I don't think I have ever seen a wide receiver / edge rusher combination -- and he punts too! Looks like another really solid recruit for the Monarchs.

Man, I don't follow the football team but saw in the paper ODU signed the Tidewater Player of the Year. First time ever. (The new coach also got a previous TWPY to transfer and is now on the team) And Tidewater HS is a real football hotbed. A dude who was INVITED to one of the most prestigious quarterback camps in the country. And some wonder if he's good enough for ODU ? Tough group here, wow.

Believe me, I hope youre right. I figure it will take a while to knock a years worth of rust off the team, and our conference friends bring back everyone with an extra year of experience. Plus Wake and Buffalo will be no pushovers. Im still hoping for 3 wins. More than that, and I'll believe we are ahead of schedule. In 2022 Im hoping for finally seeing a winning season again. After that, the sky's the limit.

That's a pretty good freaking commitment!!

This is starting to look like the 97-2002 hokie recruiting philosophy, get in good with local high school coaches, build the program up with local/state 3 star guys and the 4 & 5 star guys will follow.
