So does that mean one should not have placed a "Proud to be a Gay Democrat" bumper sticker on my first wife's boss's car decades ago? Asking for a close friend.....

This reminds of about 20 years ago I had this lousy telemarketing job and we had 1 big fat redneck working there who lived in a trailer and drove a Ford Ranger that he could barely fit into. Guy claimed he could've had a country music career but he "didn't want anyone making money off his name". One of the guys at work bought a rainbow flag sticker, we glued a magnet on it and stuck on his the back of truck. He drove that thing for a week or more without knowing it was on there.

As for the Trump stickers, I see them all time. MAGA hats too. My next door neighbor has a Trump flag hanging in his garage and leaves the door up all the time. No one bothers it. In 2016, there were quite a few Trump signs in yards in my subdivision, with the only Hillary sign being one of those fake ones that said "Hillary for Prison". I bought a MAGA sticker at a gas station in Texas on the way to the Cotton Bowl and have it displayed on my desk at work now. Every person in my office is a Trump voter, so it offends no one. Its much easier to go thru life if you stay away from liberals as best you can.

I’ve never really understood putting stickers on cars. It’s not going to change anybody’s mind. Only can draw the kind of attention you may not want.

A friend of mine who is a police officer tells me bumper stickers are often a great way to tell what’s going on in my car on a stop. May want to limit those Gratedul Dead steal your face stickers...Had a game warden tell me once that he watches for the trucks with the real tree and mossy oak stickers on the back window to figure out who he’s likely going to stop and check during deer season.

Up here in Northern Michigan eight out of 10 people feel the silly need to put a great lakes sticker on the back of the car. It’s a strange phenomenon.

Suburbs swinging back to Trump?

I truly believe 2018 was the outlier, in part because there was so much anti-Trump venom nationally, and in that particular race because Ted Cruz ran the worst campaign that I have ever seen get a win (Claytie Williams was worse, but Williams lost).

Ironic as hell now that Cruz seems to be one of Trumps biggest supporters. Is he looking forward to 2024?

Cruz is intelligent and logical. What is going on in DC is stupid, illogical and dangerous. He is bright enough to see that.

And he is an opportunist.

Yes, Cruz is an opportunist. Just a little bit too much of one. I was hoping he would age out of it, but I don't think it is going to happen.

Come on, name one politician who isn't at their very core egotistical to the extreme and opportunistic.

To be fair...I should add that I currently live in NJ, and when Trump was elected, I was in CA. SOoooo, not willing to put anything conservative out for fear of vandalism.

Of course they are. How many Trump stickers you ever seen? I think I've seen around 3-5 total and they're usually on what appears to be a pretty heavily armed pickup.

There's a Trump sign in a farmer's field by a busy road on the edge of my college town. It was put up about 2 months ago, and it was vandalized within a week of going up.

That's why I'm not putting a Trump sign in my yard. Or telling anyone at work who I'm voting for. I value my family's safety and my continued employment.

Sadly yes.

This is how far the radical leftists have gone.

I had a Reagan/Bush sticker on my car and others many years later. I could go into DC, park, and do my thing.

Today? Hahahahaha

I know I’d be dinged, keyed or even worse.

I’ll never understand the inherent anger

Borne of frustration...

Point taken. The problem with Cruz is he carefully picks his moments for feigned sincerity.

I don't think you can determine much with special elections. The turnout isn't there. Turnout will be key to who wins this year.

I see them every day. Multiple times per day. Far fewer than I saw Obama stickers, but still a lot...and I live in the city, not the much redder suburbs.

Very few in Atlanta. I admire their bravery. I see more "resistance" stickers.

Only if Democrats win is it due to Trump. Turnout was over 30,000, far more than typical for a Special Election. Beto lost by 3% in 2018.
