RE: It's that time again
Do these numbers include the current costs of healthcare in them? Im guessing it doesn't. Simply saying "Well dadgumit they're trying to spend trillions on healthcare!!!!" doesn't mean **** if we are already spending trillions on healthcare and it's just a reworking of the system.

We are currently projected to spend 52 TRILLION over the next 10 years with the current system in place if we do nothing. It's a total cluster and needs to be reworked.

And stuff like infrastructure, etc isnt "free stuff" when American infrastructure is in a state of failure. It is a basic need for us to have a functioning society. Going to cost more in the long run to not update it. Hopefully any president we have next does the right thing in that regard.

Agree that infrastructure is a major need, but you can't really fault Trump for that. He's proposed a pan and tried to get it through. but congress hasn't moved on it. The way Europe has gotten massive infrastructure done is by funding it with user fees. That's essentially what Trump has proposed.

As far as health care, I have long been a proponent of the Bismarck approach used by the best health care systems in Europe--Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland, among others. Why no major party in the US backs to is a mystery to me.

I wasnt faulting trump. Just saying I hope whichever president we have in 2020 is able to tackle the infrastructure issue

Edit: I'd be good with the Bismarck model too

US infrastructure is also funded with user fees. That they are redirected to things other than road or are not raised to fund the rebuild in the case of water transport is not a Congressional level problem

Exactly.

There is $$$ a plenty sloshing around out there in the public sphere, it’s just going to many of the wrong things.

When I went to college the State covered something close to 85% for residents. Why? To have an educated workforce. Today? The state covers about 12% give or take. Why? Social engineering and give aways.

Get a f#%^ing job, people.

National defense protects everyone. It isn't a Federal carve out like free tuition that benefits someone in college vs. someone in the workforce. Dam near everything else in your silly rant is paid for with local income and earnings taxes not Federal spending.
Also many parks have user fees depending on what activity you engage in. Dumb ass post dude.

I guess under Bernie's Venezuela plan we'd all be lower lower class, there would be a TINY ruling class and roughly 300million living in poverty.
