Manchin likes being Senator. He wont vote for removal. McConnell needs to put the vote for acquittal up first to see which of these Dems will go in record voting for removing Trump

Who cares.... it was a partisan impeachment, so what's the difference if it is a partisan acquittal.

It would further lend to the lunacy of the whole thing in the first place.

Politics, which like it or not, is important given that it is an election year. It kills their talking point about a “rigged” trial, and leaves them with nothing. Whenever they cry foul, you just point at Sinema, Manchin, etc.

My apologies - that was meant to be sarcasm. It would be great if it was a bipartisan acquittal. The Dem Congressmen would have lots of splainin' to do at the ballot box.....

The only thing thus far that has been bi-partisan was the vote NOT to impeach.
