MBB Game #23 - Northeastern (Green Out)
First 1000 students get green tees. Hopefully, another good student turnout. Maybe some green Precarious beer for the rest of us 04-cheers

Think some bright, creative undergrad(s) needs to come up with a cheer or student participation act that goes viral on social media and puts a distinct stamp on home games. Time to get the swim team out behind the opponent basket in speedos! Acapella groups could sing/chant opponent player name during FT's. A lot of diverse, non-athlete student groups that could get their day in the sun in front of a big audience with a little creative, fun participation during games. That kind of unique sights and sounds at games would only help the community coming out for the entertainment value and the "event/show" (beyond just winning, and beer.)

We need to start etching out some space between us and 2nd place, and not give back the early conference gains on the road. Northeastern is in critical position of falling into the play-in game avoidance mode. They have wake-up urgency. They will be a much tougher out if/when Murphy gets back.

Hope we are indeed improving while we are getting every opponent's best shot.

Chance to bury Northeastern with a win. Get up essentially four games on them with only eight remaining.

RE: MBB Game #23 - Northeastern (Green Out)
Forget that the are 7th in the CAA today in standings.

This game is pivotal.

Northeastern has the best NET in the CAA at 125 versus our 134.

They play better away from home this year at 6-3 than at home 4-5 so while we our team thinks of themselves as road warriors at 8-5 these guys have won a higher percentage.

We are 6-1 at home and need to start a new winning streak.

They are desperate so we need to feel the same level of energy.

Most importantly we need to have the mental toughness to close out the game which we have shown in all our wins this year but were missing on Saturday against Towson.

Amazing that Northeastern (5-4) has four losses in CAA, ALL of them by just 2 points!

This is another tough hurdle.

Marcus Thornton had his own personal chant - maybe Knight deserves one as well.

As to the rest, I hope our students have sense enough to know where the line is between “clever and fun” and “bad sportsmanship.” At some schools that line was forgotten years ago.

To the point about NU on the road and their losses all being close, taken from our own writer's blog: According to Pomeroy, A better projection on future success than road record is point differential. Here are the current point differentials.

NU isn't going away any time soon.

Great ideas! I'd also love to see a new towel man. There's got to be a student or students who would love to do this. At the last game there was a student up on the concourse getting the students riled up and it was awesome. The crowd's mood at the last game was fantastic and would have been absolutely crazy if we would have pulled out the win.

I keep telling Biff, who sits beside me, that he needs to come out of retirement. He was the second towel man!!

Seems logical for a towel-man alum to confer with Tribal Fever and get them to do it.

Tribe opens as 2 point favorite.
Line then moved in Tribe’s direction, now 2.5 point favorite.

Wow ... why aren’t we valuing the basketball at all on offense?

Long range shooting looks off again, as well.

Put someone else on Roland. As many points as our entire roster and shooting 80%. He had 7 last time they faced us.

Shooting is 53% to 23%. That about wraps it up.

Nathan doesn’t seem himself on offense tonight.

We need to up our intensity.

Thornton seems to be playing very lackadaisical.

Let’s Go Tribe!!!
