RE: WAC Basketball week 13 (WAC week 5)
Good game/atmosphere last night, but unfortunately UVU couldn't get the win last night. They REALLY needed that win. I don't see anything higher than a 4 seed at WACVegas. Though, I would say that a 6/7 seed is actually better than a 4/5 seed. Hopefully Wolverines can turn it around and play quality basketball for 2-3 wins in a row.

UMKC "seems" to get an easy week with an NAIA team and Chicago St. This is a perfect time to get healthy and still win some games. They are the only ones I believe that still get to play CSU twice so if they continue to play well that will sneak in the opposite side of the bracket of NMSU in the bracket.

I guess I'll say that I like how WIDE open #2-#7 this year is. Every week in the WAC produces different results. It should make for an exciting WACVegas!

GCU picks up a solid road win against UTRGV. Lever had 20 points and Isaiah Brown scored 18 off the bench.

Aggies and Bakersfield in a dogfight. 2 point game with 9:00 left in the second half.

New Mexico State continues to find ways to win basketball games. NMSU now 16-6 and 7-0 in WAC play.

Good game Bako. Looking at the stats, I’m not really sure how the Aggies won that game. Really fortunate to sneak out with a W.

AGGIE are going to have to play better than that if they want to win on Saturday, that’s for sure.

GO AGGIES!!!!

We won at the free throw line. We made less shots but Ivan and Jabari were aggressive tonight causing a lot of fouls and getting to the line. We went 19 of 25 from the free throw line, Bakersfield was just 2 of 5. That was the difference. That's why we won tonight. NMSU drew 23 fouls tonight, 12 of them coming from Ivan and Jabari. We only had 11 fouls the entire night.

Aggies didn't "draw" fouls. Bakersfield is very aggressive and they foul a lot. That is their game. Foul as much as you can and hope the ref doesn't call half of them. The Aggies continue to win games with basically the 2nd string squad. Unfortunately without AJ, Clayton and Trev this is how every WAC game is going to be for NMSU home and away. Like I said with this team I see losing two regular season conference games and very susceptible to a hot shooting team in the WAC tourney. I hope I'm wrong.

Yes, we won at the foul line. The main point is that there aren’t many times you get out-rebounded, have more Turnovers and make less shots than the opposition and win. Thank goodness for the foul shot discrepancy and the fact we hit a good number of them.

That Bako D, tho....sheesh. It was good and makes me think they are probably most likely to make it to the championship game if they keep playing that way.

GO AGGIES!!!

Halfway through- This is how WAC tourney would be seeded- 6 teams are within a game of each other. #WACVEGAS is gonna be wild.

1 NMSU 8-0
8 Chicago St 0-8
4 UMKC 4-4 (1-2 vs. others 4-4, but beat Seattle for tiebreaker)
5 Seattle 4-4 (1-2 in tiebreaker, but lost to UMKC
2 CSU-B 4-4 (2-1 in tiebreaker, but beat GCU)
7 UTRGV 3-5 (lost to UVU) Note that that just beat CSU-B tonight
3 GCU 4-4 (2-1 in tiebreaker, but lost to CSU-B)
6 UVU 3-5 (beat UTRGV H2H) Note- won @GCU last week

2nd half of the season- LETS GO!!!

I have to admit, I really didn’t think this was how the WAC season was going to go for the AGGIES. I expected them to be at the top, but with all the injuries, I felt like it was going to be closer than this. Still a second half to go, though. Love seeing the race for 2-6 though. Lots of meaningful games left.

GO AGGIES!!!

I agree, not that I would like to lose but damn the WAC is really bad. It’s just proves the second 5 for the Aggies would take 2nd and possibly 1st in the WAC.

RE: WAC Basketball week 13 (WAC week 5)
NMSU looked strong last night against GCU. Good crowd too. CBU is the clear second place team. Nobody else is really jumping out from the crowd right now except Chicago State who are still struggling.

If anyone is wondering how the incoming WAC schools are doing, Dixie State is currently 16-3, and ranked 19th in the Division 2 Top 25. Tarleton State is 12-8 so far.

OT: Just to mention it, West Texas A&M, from the Lone Star conference is having a memorable year as of now at 20-1. They are ranked #3 in the nation.
