Good to hear that they are getting good. Cincinnati played them about 3weeks ago and beat them by 30......They didn't show much that night.

I don’t understand how the school leading our conference has OOC losses to UTA, Arkansas St and Colorado St. That is not a good look. Did Tulsa get someone eligible in December that has made a big difference?

You guys lost to ECU. Similar ranking.

I’m not sure I understand your point. We are not leading the conference. What does our loss to ECU have to do with Tulsa’s OOC losses?

Early on Tulsa had trouble putting a whole game together. They would play well for stretches but then have poor shooting or turnovers and have a bad half. They finally started putting full games together when conference play started. Why I don’t know but I’m glad they did and I hope they keep it up.

As for our blowout at Cincinnati it was a 4 point game at half and that only because Vogt had a put back on a missed shot as the clock expired. 6 minutes into the second half it was an 8 point game then the Cumberlands got hot and we stopped trying to go inside. We finished 0-17 from deep and Cincinnati scored 36 points in the last 14 minutes. There was a minor brouhaha on the Tulsa rivals boards because Haith called out the players for abandoning the game plan in the second half but they’ve played like champs since.

RE: Tulsa Basketball
Tulsa's defensive scheme is very hard to learn. Early in the year there are a lot of mistakes happening as they try to learn it. However, as the season goes on they always tend to put it together under Haith. I just hate losing these early season games under him so often.

I said gettin' good, not started from the gun good. Hell Cincy was a sh!tshow in the beginning. They are gettin' there too, without newly eligible players.

Teams can and do improve as the season moves along. Tulsa has my respect.

Igbanu looked lost the first two months of the season. He looks unstoppable now.

If you can hit the 3, then we have problems(UTA). I'm hoping Wichita is cold Saturday, and we are hitting our shots and free-throws. Go Cane!

As others have said, Haith's teams historically have started slow because his defensive scheme is hard to grasp and he relies on transfers heavily. Pretty much every year we have some "WTF" OOC losses and then hit our stride in conference.

One thing that has changed is our best wing (Jackson) began shooting and hitting 3's. This has opened up the lane for everyone else and has made it harder for teams to double Igbanu.

I thought early in the year that this was haith's most talented team, but I didn't think we had the leadership or outside shooting to make it to the tournament. I'm glad they are proving me wrong.

Well you haven't made it to the tournament and with those inexplicable OOC losses, you still may not. Tulsa has several more conference losses (at least) in its future.

Cincy has a few ugly losses of their own. Tulsa has 1 QUAD 3 loss (with CSU 3 spots away from changing to a Q2 loss) and 1 QUAD 4 loss. Bearcats have 3 QUAD 3 losses.

LOL. There is no winning with UC fans. When we lose, they say we should be kicked out of the conference for not contributing. When we win, they want us to lose. For some reason Tulsa is the school UC fans love to hate.
