RE: UAB vs LaTech
The UAB AD must weigh several factors when the season is over. He and the BBHC will meet and evaluate the situation for 20-21 and list #1 - Players returning and who will be signed new for next fall? ; #2 Do they feel new assistants are needed to be brought in or does Ingram need to let them all go? ; #3 If the latter is his decision, does he have a replacement staff he feels will be an improvement lined up? (When the UAB AD back then fired Murry Bartow, he was able to bring in Mike Anderson as his replacement and Davis was replaced by a top UNC assistant - BOTH are still BBHCs at major programs) #3 may be determined by UAB having the funding to compete for the better possible coaches who apply or at least express interest.

Some of our BT folks may have inside info on this process and can enlighten the rest of us as to what to expect this spring as these factors are weighed out and decisions made.

RE: UAB vs LaTech
Some observations:

1. Some fun pop-up troll accounts from someone with poor grammar skills and a serious personal grudge against Rob Ehsan. Who could that be? You'd almost think the poster had tried to punch Ehsan. "Know the game!"

2. Now we know why Luis and Jude rarely play.

3. Jalen drew an offensive foul on the guy with the awful red hair just by snapping his own hair like he'd been smacked.

4. Did LaTech send out four new guys and a new girl at the end of the game?!?

5. Seven Golden Girls is an improvement over the five Thursday night, and they performed (outstanding as usual) but this is not how tradition is kept. Golden Girls have been part of UAB basketball since the beginning. I don't like seeing our precious traditions in the hands of anyone who's ever chanted rammerjammeryellerhammer.

6. Rob Ehsan is not the problem. Rob Ehsan is a symptom. The rot starts at the top, and the fix starts with a DeFinistration in the chancellor's office, a pumpkinectomy in the president's chambers, and a doughnut flush in Bartow East.

7. So how do we get a new coach who's not Doc Sadler past that triple barrier of incompetence and corruption? LSU assistant Bill Armstrong has spent over 15 years coaching in the $EC. Scream Yeeeehaw fer the SEC! loud enough and maybe Finis won't look too closely at his resume.

8. I will tell a story because, well, no one can stop me. Murry Bartow was fired by a stupidest human I've ever met personally, for losing games. This happens in college basketball. Murry could have saved his job. At the turn of the century, Murry and AK went head-to-head with bammer for the #1 high school player in America, and another top-ten player from Alabama. They made their choices on signing day. Money flashed, none of it from UAB's coaches. So one guy went to bammer, the other to Mississippi State - with no prior visits to campus or to his home, and no inkling the guy had any interest in State. (This incident, incidentally, caused UAB to turn in Rick Stansbury to the NCAA.)

Murry probably could have gotten both of those guys if he'd decided to play dirty. UAB would have won many more games with them. He followed Gene's path, and it cost him his job.

37 schools have won NCAA men's basketball championships. 14 have never been sanctioned for cheating. We remain in the more select group, where Gene Bartow put us (and yes, it took some luck that Davis the Texting Moron never got caught). Ehsan will never hang a banner, but he's kept the ones we have clean. The next guy needs to do the same.

And if you'd rather win dirtily, then you can go suck on a Pearl.

Ehsan said they had hoped to get an MRI for Butler in a few hours following the game.

You are correct that Where UAB BB is now is the cumulative result of our past decisions on how to meet various challenges among our peers. Was Leo Durocher correct when he observed that "Nice guys finish last"? We made our choices at various points in time(Murry Bartow and Mike Davis), and now we are griping about the results that followed from them.
Your #6 may be right, but those people are not ones UAB can affect or change. The only change possible at the local level is who gets to coach UAB BB next season.

you might want to research the real Durocher quote in context before tossing it about but it has been misrepresented for years.

A couple of questions though - when did Kennedy decide to "follow SEC rules"? and

why was Murry such friends with the person who basically stole his potential recruits?

Has anyone heard anything on the status of Butler?
