Looks like a vaccine is nearingproduction but will take a while to be mass produced. So, that's good news, right?

Quote:“We have already produced the vaccine, but it will take a long time to test on animals,” Yuen said, without giving a specific time frame on when it would be ready for patients.
But he said it would take months to test the vaccine on animals and at least another year to conduct clinical trials on humans before it was fit for use.
HKU researchers based it on a nasal spray influenza vaccine previously invented by Yuen’s team.

Quote:Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the N.I.H., who oversees Dr. Graham’s team, said he expected the vaccine research to move quickly.

“If we don’t run into any unforeseen obstacles, we’ll be able to get a Phase 1 trial going within the next three months, which will be record speed,” he said, referring to early human trials that test for safety.
Quote:Dr. Paul Stoffels, Johnson & Johnson’s chief scientific officer, estimated it could take eight to 12 months before his company’s vaccines reach human clinical trials.

On the “bright” side, it’s starting to look like that recession — the one that Bill Maher and others have been wishing for — may finally happen, after all.

I'm wondering, is it President Trump's, fault, yet?

as for this bug, I personally dont worry about things like this that I have zero control over. To be completely honest, i'm no more concerned over the death rate from it as I am on the nightly deaths in Chicago, East LA, New Orleans,...

RE: 'This time I'm scared': experts fear too late for China virus lockdown
The World Indoor Track and Field Championships (which were scheduled for March in China) have just been postponed (they're canceling it for this year and will try it again in 2021 there). That's probably the most significant sporting event to date that has been affected by the virus.

If it gets much worse, I wonder if the Olympics this summer (in Tokyo) could be in trouble. Hopefully things have gotten back to normal by then and China can just go about its normal way of suddenly producing world champions in sports that no one had ever heard of prior to the Olympics. Science for good instead of evil.

About 34 airlines have suspended service to China.

On their best days airliners are petrie dishes of yuck...I’m ok with not flying anywhere for a month or so until this thing declares one by land, 2 by sea

I wish we would do that as well. Now that they have admitted the incubation period may be much longer than earlier believed---air traffic to the US needs to be shut down until this is under control or until the vaccine is ready and available in large numbers. If the incubation period is actually 2 weeks like some reports say, it may already be too late.

Yeah, what could possibly go wrong? I'm a generous and selfless man. You go ahead and get the vaccine first.

What do you bet they push it through with complete legal and civil immunity.

I'll take my chances with the virus.

One time I spilled a bloody mary inside a 737, first class seat, heading to Punta Cana...below the window. One week later on the return flight the stain was still there. Had the same seat for both flight.

I'm sure the higher ups in China already have it. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was "invented" by the Chinese Govt. to get rid of some "non-workers"(old People) considering Trump is putting it to them and they realize they need to trim the top end of the population. How many people over there have died that are below the age of 60?

I've thought of stuff like this as well- culling the herd.

Apparently Wuhan is the hub of the military's chemical weapons program as well. Wouldn't put a damn thing past them. It's what good commies do.

There has got to be a reason for them not wanting us over there to help, other than "The People" finding out the US isn't the devil after all.

And to really make you chuckle... China has a Bio Lab who's logo is almost identical to the 'Umbrella Corp' from the Resident Evil Franchise that created the Zombie Virus Plague. However that lab is in Shanghai not Wuhan.
