They are also 2022 recruits. A little concerning how much time they have to change their minds (they can't officially commit for another year and a month - early signing period 12/21) but I can't imagine the staff ending communication with them. If anything, there'll be more. It's really exciting to see these kind of guys have interest in our program.

Yea, obviously we have to hang on to these recruits and we may well lose some, but even if we lose this one the fact that we are able to get commitments from these types of players is huge. It shows top recruits are willing to come here and that they trust this staff and program will be able to develop them into NFL talent.

I agree with all that in our minds we should be cautiously optimistic, but we need to keep and spread excitement and get the word out! This is an incredible start to class '22 on top of the great season we are having now and recently signed class of '20!

Let's do our part to keep this thing rolling!

It helps we're more of a defense oriented program. 4 star guy can come play on a top 10-15 defense in year 1 or 2 rather than wait til year 3 or 4 at some of these bigger programs.

Agreed. We'd rather have them committed and making a big splash while highly ranked, rather than just have a tiny C-Paw logo alongside all the rest on their mile long offer lists. But as you say, lots can happen between now and signing day and I'm sure P5 schools will be relentless in filling their eyes, ears, inboxes, and phones daily: trash talking the G5, sharing rumors of our coaches being courted by P5 schools, etc..

At the end of the day, we have an amazing coaching staff that is far exceeding our expectations. Go 'Cats!

Stephan Byrd, RB from Canal Winchester...he is a VERY good player. Picked us over offers from Tennessee, Iowa State, Pitt, West Virginia, and Minnesota

Now the class is ranked #9...obviously won't stay that way once the 5* guys start committing, but man is it crazy to see that. Would love if this momentum moved us up the lists of guys in Ohio like Aamil Wagner or Derrick Shepherd.

Rivals has him as with an offer from Michigan and Msu. I like that!
