2020 CUSA Softball
Where’s the conference tourney this year?

Let me know if you guys need any impartial input on controversial officiating in this sport, since my school does not field a team.

I love softball, and hope North Texas can live up to the preseason expectations and win the conference. DeLong has a good thing going at UNT. We are going to have to give him a raise.

RE: 2020 CUSA Softball
Charlotte has its first new softball coach in 2 decades. They are picked last this season, so they aren't likely to be great. However, much like football and basketball, you should expect to see rapid improvement from this program over the next 2-3 years. Baseball has been fairly solid over the years, but i expect the new baseball coach to improve that program as well.

RE: 2020 CUSA Softball
North Texas Softball will be one of the teams to play the US National Team in April, before the Olympic Team departs in July for the summer Olympics in Tokyo.

"What an honor it is to play against Team USA, they are the best team in the world made up of some of the best players in the world,” said North Texas Head Coach, Rodney DeLong. “It will be a great opportunity for us to compete against and learn from some of our games best and most influential players."

Where will LT play this year and when can the redone baseball field and softball field be done.

I see the coaches this year didn't put any doubt in the Herd, having picked them tied for 3rd after picking them 8th last year. All Megan Smith done was come in, tie the most wins in program history with 42, make it to the CUSA title game by beating UNT twice 1-0 and making the NISC (National Invitational Softball Championship) (Softball's NIT) and then making it to the final game of that regional.

Marshall has a ton of newcomers this year lead by two pitchers with HS career ERAs under 1.

Ashley Blessin- Pitcher, Plant City FL
Delaney Heaberlin- Pitcher, Eustis FL
Caiti Mathes- Infielder, Nitro WV
Laney Jones- Pitcher, Doylestown OH (Transfer from Ashland University DII in OH, Junior)
Haleigh Christopher- Catcher, Huntington WV (Transfer from University of Charleston, Grad Transfer)
Sage Pye- Infielder, Stockton CA (Transfer from GA Tech, Junior)
Megan Stauffer- Pitcher, Lansdale PA (Transfer from Monmouth, Junior)
Grace Chelemen- Outfielder, Woodhaven MI (Transfer from Michigan, Sophomore)

UAB will be a bit of a mystery this year. We have a lot of transfers(SEC players) that sat last year and some more that will sit this year. Along with the team we already had that didn't have a stellar season but showed some signs of being good its any Blazers guess how we will do. Its the second season for our new coach so hopefully we will se an uptick in performance.

RE: 2020 CUSA Softball
UAB made a statement this opening weekend. UAB beat Georgia Tech 9-3 and Ohio 4-2 yesterday. Today, the Blazers fought back from being down 7-1 to tie the #1 team in the country, Washington, in the 7th. Washington won off of a walkoff single with a 2-2 count with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th. Tomorrow, the Blazers play Furman and Ohio.

North Texas Softball is off to a good start. According to the box score ULL was ranked #8. UNT also has 4 games against Oklahoma this season. It could be a banner year for the softball girls. Go Mean Green!!!

RE: 2020 CUSA Softball
Who knows what USM will do this year. We’ve got a new coach and the schedule he has made definitely is built with winning in mind.....meaning there’s very few games against traditional power programs. Only 3 of our 32 non conference games are against traditional P5 schools with 2 against Mississippi St and one against Ole Miss. Granted neither are traditional powers but in past years we’ve played multiple games against a combo of Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Baylor.

We’ve started 2-0 this season against 2 not very good schools (Saint Louis as well as Mississippi Valley St) and run ruled both. We play them both again tomorrow to finish up opening weekend
