Holley had 4 catches for 50 yards in his first game. Had a deep catch and a post game interview they made sports center this morning. They mentioned he tore his ACL 3 times and had a broken back in his football career. I knew he got hurt a lot at Kent, but man, that's crazy.

One tough Mother!
Great story.
He's the reason I've adopted Houston as my XFL team.

Great catch he had yesterday, I kept seeing the hi light shown. QB dropped that dime into triple coverage and Nick went up and got it. What a baller!

RE: NIck Holley Houston Roughnecks XFL
The start to Holley's pro career has gone about as well as anyone could reasonably expect. Through 5 games he's 5th in the league in receiving yards. His team has been the best team in the league with the most exciting offense and his QB and their top WR (who leads the xfl in receiving) have been receiving plenty of NFL attention so he's definitely playing in front of scouts.

How the XFL payroll works is you get paid $2080 every 2 weeks as a base salary. Then you get an additional $1685 per game where you're active. Finally you get $2222 per game your team wins. Since Holley has played in every game and his team has won every game he has maximized his earnings through 5 weeks. That should be $24735 over the last 5 weeks.

I have no idea how the XFL is doing financially, but I hope it sticks around. I think it's been very entertaining football so far and I love seeing an alternative path for fringe players to still get to play and make a decent living.

Great info anti-zip, thanks for posting. Also agree on hoping it sticks around, every other sport has a true minor league or international league they can make a mark until getting that chance. Glad to see him get this chance to shine, hoping he and his bro get a shot at the NFL.

Nathan had NFL teams wanting him to try out, but the Stampede won't release him from in contract

I hope the XFL can survive the economic issues. What's interesting if they do continue to play games their ratings might go way up if there are no other sports to watch.
