I would have bet against them scoring 80 points in an open gym. The offensive execution in the last few minute has me even more excited for the future! Brannen has a track record of his teams getting better towards the end of the year. It was great to see a glimpse of that tonight.
Reminds me of the ECU football game this year. Everything that Temple put up went in for the first 30+ minutes, but somehow we pulled it out.
I wouldn't read to much into Temple's offensive performance. When you go 9/14 from 3 you're going to make a lot of defenses look bad. I think it was 7/8 in the first half. There's not a coach in the country that would not have let them shoot away from 3. We did a good job in the second half limiting their opportunities. Give them credit, they hit shots, and not the easiest attempts. That loss has to really sting for Temple. Probability of losing a game with those shooting stats at home has to be minimal.

Both at home.
Tulsa is currently beating Memphis 40-17 at halftime.
Yeah that's the right score.
This conference has been bizarre to say the least this year. Tulsa is a really weird team if you go down and look at their results. I am just glad we don't have to worry about them in a rubber match at their place this year.

He still is pretty raw, but the has been getting a decent amount of minutes, and actually looks like he belongs recently. Yes, the improvement is really quite remarkable. And I agree that he may never be a starter but fulfilled a pretty good role in last night's game. It appears to me to be a combination of him learning more basketball skills through drill and repetition, maturing more physically and perhaps getting a fresh approach to "big man" coaching from this new staff. We've never questioned his athleticism but if this progression continues he could be pretty special.
Wish he shot more from deep. His 3-ball release point is borderline unblockable. It's like a catapult starting at 6'9".

I rather see Diarra with an open three than Tre with his mid range two that he short arms so much. Like how our front court is developing for next year. Will miss Scott's toughness but if Diarra keeps improving, addition of Eason and maybe even a better all around version of Vogt it should be interesting. One wild card is Prince; he seems involved on the bench with the team. Will his health ever let him return. Is he talented to be a small power forward in the Bearcat tradition of a Hicks or Maxielle; or will he probably end up in the transfer portal. A veteran transfer with at least two years of eligibility would be great for our depth also if that comes to happen.

I've not seen him in person, but i've been told Eason can play the 3 or 4. It looks from video of him he handles the ball very well for a kid his size. A lineup with 6'8, 6'10 and 7'1 would be the biggest front line i can ever remember.
Really nice to see the Cats close one out last night and almost important was nice that the players who normally leave their game at home packed up their game for the road this week....

I think Diarra keeps looking better, but Sorolla keeps regressing. I imagine Diarra will keep gaining minutes at Sorolla's expense.

Although I hate to see Sorolla regressing, I'd rather Diarra be the one improving since we'll have him for two more years. Sorolla looks like he's playing with greased hands lately.

Sorolla was excellent Sunday against East Carolina. 11/6 i believe. He's no Vogt, but a much better offensive all around player than our recent history at backup 5. Did i also mention he can make a ft!

Come on that was five days ago; people have short memories! Saw on his stats that Sorolla was 2 for 2 on threes last year; probably won't see him try one this year.

Most years we only have two top 25 teams anyways. We may be missing a heavy weight like Housotn last year or Cincinnati in 2018, but it's a decent year for the league.
None of those teams have any business being in the top 25 - maybe Houston. When AAC teams played legit teams OOC this year, they lost. There are a few top 50 wins, but that's about it.
How you defining legit?
Top 20ish kenpom or sagarin. I think UCONN might have the best win beating Florida
There are definitely more wtf losses OOC this year than good wins. That unfortunately includes our Bearcats
Lol, how many top 20 opportunities has this conference even had? Memphis lost by 8 to Oregon. Houston lost to them by 12. Wichita state lost to WVU by 12. That's it for the top teams. 3 chances. Not exactly a whole lot of data points.
