My "problem" is that I have lost 80 lbs so all of my NIU polos are 4 sizes too big and I had bad luck with Amazon so I am waiting until I head back to Illinois this summer to restock.

Congratulations with your "problem." As someone who is also ltrting to downsize, I realize how hard this can be.

Thanks!

Shout out to sarasotahuskie, I wouldn't have known about this event and was happy I went! My wife and I really enjoyed it. We were the youngest graduation dates by a couple of decades (I beleive, I didn't meet everyone), which is hopefully just a function of Sarasota and not the alumni as a whole.
We must have met Cosine. My name is Jim and I was sitting at the President's table wearing a black NIU polo.

Ah, I did see you. I was the one who got called out for wearing a sweater when it was 70 degrees out 03-lmfao

OK, maybe you want to change your user name to Argyle. That was actually funny.

A few things from the presentation in Sarasota:
NIU has 240,000 alum worldwide.
1000 alums in the Ft Myers Sarasota area alone.

The main pitch was to fund a scholarship program to give free tuition and books to kids with a 3.0 plus GPA with a family AGI under $75k. Cosine, please fill in.

I believe that they said that they committed to raising $50M in scholarship money and have raised $10M so far. It was very nice that they just stated what they were trying to accomplish and why without a pressure of putting you on the spot to donate right then. Ask everyone to get involved in any way possible, even if it is not financially.

I wear Huskie stuff so often that my friends and family mock me.

I wear Huskie gear all the time. In 2013 my girls were in competitive club soccer and I wore Huskie shirts at every game. I became a minor celebrity after NIU made the Orange Bowl, lol. Every college football fan who wasn't an FSU fan was PRAYING for NIU to win. Everybody wanted to see FSU lose.

Amazing how many Huskie alumni I run into down here, and the gear is a good conversation starter.

Is there anyone left in Illinois?
