I am somewhat surprised that we haven't heard rumors, much less new destinations, for any of Wilder and his coaches.

I always thought Wilder would be a solid broadcaster, probably a color analyst. I've heard nothing to indicate that is what he will be doing- just speculating.

I am not surprised at all. The offensive coaches would have to go to a low D1AA or D2 like Nagy did, if anyone were interested. Blackwell, Commissiong and maybe Banks are probably employable in D1 but not at the top of anyone's list right now. Wilder should be a VP of marketing at a major corporation or color analyst on football telecasts.

Thoughts on Bobby taking over as AD? We could start a petition to have Selig fired and replace him with Bobby.

I figured BW would easily be able to find an FCS head coaching job quickly, given his FCS record and success building a new program. But its too late now to find an opening, so maybe he wants to take a year off.

He's still collecting a salary. I'm sure he'll land on his feet.

You need help. People got very tired of his BS. He'd have trouble getting people to donate the kind of bucks needed to keep the program going. You wanna get rid of Selig? Fine. Mark Benson, now at Albany, should be the #1 choice.

Seriously why would you want to hire the guy that you just fired as the football coach to run the entire athletics enterprise? Bobby will probably end up back in I-AA or as an assistant at a 1-A program after next season.

Mark Benson is a absolute great suggestion. Kudos to him for getting the AD spot at Albany, but to me it feels as if things in the Athletic Department has been lacking without Benson at ODU. Just my two cents.

It hasn't been the same since Benson left. I'm definitely on the bring back Mark train.

The article on Jonah Fitzgerald in the transfers thread mentioned that stinespring was close to announcing his next stop, but didn't state where.

As important as anything else, the donors loved him.

I am glad we don’t have to play them this year. He is a good coach.

Not so fast. We might play them in the conference championship!

Bad move not retaining him.

Maybe Rahne’s defensive philosophy is different than Blackwell’s? Blackwell certainly improved our defense, but it wasn’t like we were the ‘85 Bears.

Blackwell not being on this staff is all on Blackwell. He is the reason he left.
