I thought it was odd they keep going after good players, after signing good players the year prior. But looking at how active the transfer portal is, you really have to keep recruiting. No matter how well your program does.

Think of the RB room at Wisconsin where Hammock coached. They had talent in spades and he wants to duplicate it here. Guys shouldn't be afraid of competition, they should embrace it. That way when adversity comes they will be prepared to succeed.

And just to clarify, Chapman committed back in mid-February, the pictures/posts now were just because he got to campus after finishing the semester at Youngstown. So this isn't a surprise addition that is shocking any of the other guys in the RB room.
I agree that he may have a hard time finding PT bc his running style is very similar to that of Collins. But after Ratkovich is gone next year, he and Collins will be our only "bruiser" type backs, so it's good to have him incase of an injury or something to Collins.

I don’t think you’ll see Rat lined up very much at RB. Maybe occasionally in short yardage, but I would expect him to be more of a TE/FB super back type role.
