And just like that, another Georgia commit.

Elijah Hamm
Safety, probably a good candidate to play linebacker for us.

Ran an 11.35 100 meters in 2019. That was after his sophomore year so he would appear to have lots of upside.

Hammock and company are quietly putting together some of the strongest recruiting classes in NIU history. Can’t wait I to see our guys on the field sometime in the future. Lol

Interesting....you would figure two guys' like this with their size and location would be easier to find information on, but neither are even on any recruiting sites....?

I agree. We never know how recruits will work out. However, I would rather start with higher evaluated recruits, hope they more often than not live up to the expectations, and hope for those hidden gems. We will know in a few years, but I have high (but realistic) expectations.

OL Luke Eckardt just flipped to Arizona. Win a few, lose a few.

Lose a two star (Eckardt), gain a three (Rios). Lose Noah Vedal and gain a Connor Neville.

I like the trend.

The quality recruits we are getting has me pumped for the future of NIU football.

Maybe he just found out about that 4 year commitment thing.

RE: 2021 Official Verbal Thread
I just read an article on Ronde Worrels. He is converting from RB to OLB. He has now gone from 6'0 190 lbs. to 6'1" 210 lbs. He states that he has a better chance of seeing playing time as a LB. {3 spots vrs. 1}. He sounds very aggressive and ready to play.

If the fall season is cancelled. How does that work for recruiting? Are we locked on to the players we signed now? Since there will be less tape to evaluate.

No one knows but I'm willing to take a few guesses. First, I believe 2021 Signing Day will go on this December as scheduled even if the 2020 season is moved to next spring. There's been some speculation about moving Signing Day to Febuary or later for this class but I doubt that happens. Coaches have invested so much time and energy into building their 2021 recruiting classes and are so invested in relationships with those players and their parents they will not want to risk having to start over.

The bigger issue is what happens if a 2020 season is not played at all, either this fall or next spring. That's a nightmare scenario for roster management as I described in an earlier post: https://csnbbs.com/thread-902687-post-16...id16904663

Basically, some form of 2020 season has to be played or all hell breaks loose from a roster and scholarship standpoint.

Financially, I don't know if NIU has enough money to use all 85 scholarships.

I see another it's great to be a Huskie Tweet from Hammock. This usually means we got a new verbal. Any speculation?
