RE: Jalen Green says he's going to college
The New Elite programs might be the ones who do the most with 3 and 4 star kids.

Anyone dumb enough to expect good news or good things for tiger basketball is a moron.
I’m neither dumb nor a moron, but I will always expect good news and cheer for all Tiger activities, both on the playing field and institutionally. Do I like the fact that someone has chosen to take his talents elsewhere? No. But it is his option to do what he feels is right for him/his family. In the words of Forrest Gump, “it happens....”
It strikes me as a little judgmental to open a thread on this topic and then paint the posters in it with such a broad brush when this is how one feels on the topic. Given your online persona and post history I am surprised by this.
I'm surprised you manage to twist it into something so personal. That was pretty impressive. I did not take shot at the kid, say anything negative about the kid, I did even MENTION him at all. So I have no idea why you are pretending I did.
I think I said one thing and you heard something else entirely.
My disgust has nothing to do with this kid, the fans or the players. Its about college BB, the NCAA and the entire corrupt racket its become. We are not going to be allowed to be an elite program and the NCAA is going to see to that no matter what. NO I don't expect any big things to come for tiger BB. When it does the NCAA will shoot us down again like they have for years and just did again this season.
If you take that as a personal shot at you or fellow tiger fans that's your fault not mine. The problem is not tiger fans, its the NCAA.
The gist of my comment was directed at your second statement about anyone that wants and expects good things about the Tigers basketball program being a moron for doing so. What kind of fan doesn't want or expect good things for their team? Is everyone on the board a moron for being on here caring about the team?
I didn't say you mentioned or took a shot at the kid. I'm not sure how it could be interpreted that way. I certainly didn't intend it to come off that way.
I usually hate it when two people get a back-and-forth going on that isn't on-topic, so I probably won't respond again. I hate to clutter the board up with it. Maybe I just don't appreciate being called a moron expecting good news or good things for tiger teams.
Have a nice day...
You'll get over it. I don't feel a need to clarify a 2nd time that it really wasn't about YOU or our fans (its about the NCAA AGAIN squashing us).
But ignore that and be personally offended instead if it makes you feel better.
You simply misinterpreted the post.
He wasn't the only one to be offended by you referring to Tigers optimists as dumb and morons. If your real disdain was directed towards the NCAA and not fans, as you clarified, then it was originally a poor choice of words.

Jalen isn't in the typical development league such as the D-league:
Thanks for the link. I hope more players go this route.
EDIT: Not sure if this is the official website. https://jr.nba.com/jr-nba-pathway/

When they start plucking off all the five stars and even some 4 stars then people will watch.

In general people do not care about minor league sports. They exist to serve the owners and GMs to prevent paying big bucks to busts. Basketball will be no different. It might be slightly more popular but it will not pull crowds or tv viewership. At the end of the day it is just minor league basketball. It will be still be 3rd in popularity and way behind the NBA and NCAA.

They only have to generate enough viewership to makeup for what they are putting out which is 500K a player. If the total payroll for all 10 teams is even as high as 40-50 million that will easily be done. There are enough basketball junkies that want to see big time prospects.
