CMU has been rolling a lot with the 1-year “Rent a QB” strategy lately.

Granted it’s worked to some extent so why not keep that train going. But if I’m a HS QB recruit I’d be wary of a CMU offer. Sounds like they don’t develop QBs up there.

I don't understand your point. Corey Davis struggled in high school due to a tough home life. Fleck took a chance on him and he was a great ambassador for the university throughout his 4 years here. Never an issue on or off the field, did his work in the classroom and broke the NCAA receiving yards record.

Are you really trying to take a shot at Corey Davis?

I don't think that was his point, a lot of schools wouldn't take a chance on Corey because of his academics we're questionable. It worked out in our favor and I am happy Corey was a Bronco.

But how is that applicable to the topic at hand? Lots of guys don't have great academics in high school and therefore aren't highly sought after by college coaches. Look at Khalil Mack. Same thing.

Jett Duffey had two criminal incidents in COLLEGE and was rejected from Tulane and after already being in COLLEGE.

I said weeks ago, that McElwain was of questionable character, and he can hide behind; "We are just giving kids a second chance", but everyone out there that said this stop in Mt. Pleasant, was just that, I think are wrong.
What school is seriously going to consider him as a head coach to the big time with what is happening at Central right now?

A discussion about Title IX kangaroo courts aside, there’s a giant difference from taking a chance on a poor student and giving an alleged rapist the reins of your team. I guess this makes the other QB’s suspension look not so bad.

They are dropping a nuclear bomb on their culture for a few wins. Who would have thought that was possible given their prior history. CMU did well by developing their Michigan guys, now they are Last Chance U. Who’s going to pick up the pieces next there?

CMU's consistent strategy of bringing transfer QBs makes me nervous. Experience @ a position you want experience at is a big plus. We might scoff @ it, but honestly, wish we'd do it more (maybe not as consistently as they do at QB, but at other positions we're lacking at)
