We were up 1, with 5 seconds left, Nicholson (a 78% FT shooter) gets fouled...and misses BOTH free throws. They rebound and now they have a chance to win with 4.1 seconds left.
At 3-3, we are currently in the middle of the pack in C-USA, tied for seventh, which was about where we were predicted to finish (even with Scootie).
The big question is, game in and game out, which team will show up? You know FAU is hating themselves tonight, for losing at home to a team that FIU beat by 25 two nights ago.
Key to winning today was UAB making FAU play defense for 20 plus seconds every possession. FAU takes a quick shot and right back on defense. Patience and good ball movement led to UAB shooting 50%. But FAU shooting 34% part of good defense and game plan.. This style of play wore down FAU. Free throws still not good and almost cost UAB.
The same style of play at FIU did not work when UAB fell down 15 points early. Sometimes you must tip your hat to opponent like FIU when they shoot lights out. Proud of team today for good execution.. Come home and get 2 W's next week. I was really disappointed after Thursday but happy with effort today.

FAU lost at home to St. Bonaventure on Dec. 2nd, but that is their only home loss. FIU is perfect at home and favored by 13 over Middle Tennessee today.

Yahoo sports had FAU undefeated at home. Maybe because other home loss part of holiday tournament. Thanks for correction. Still a tough trip.
