He can loose every bowl game by several scores. He does not need to regularly achieve a top 25 ranking.

I love winning the MAC, I love seeing us beat Big Budget Schools like Nebraska and Iowa, and I love the chance for our guys to go to Bowl Games. But expecting Carey to repeat Orange Bowl invitations is unrealistic considering the resources we have. And for that reason, I believe the hate isn't warranted.

Going to the Orange Bowl was an anomaly for us. Hence why Kirk Herbstriet threw a fit when it happened. Asking that of our coaches is a VERY tall ask.

With that being said, this seems to be a goal of the administration. And with that being said, I think Hammock is trying his best to bring in that caliber of athlete into the program as well as create offensive and defensive systems that can get us out of where we are at. The goal is next level....

So please, stop crapping on the old coach for not repeating Orange Bowl invites...and stop crapping on the new coach for pushing for change

I cannot remember craping on the old coach for not repeating Orange Bowl invites. Having the lack of depth we have and given that injuries occur, I agree with your assessment that for NIU on its present fb budget , going to the Orange bowl is highly improbable.

If our FB budget is 121 st then getting in the top 50 or 60 is an excellent achievement.

Interms of change , new brooms often sweep clean.
New coach is very committed, and seems to have so far recruited very well. His strategy of focussing on Wisconsin players and using the pool of talent for walk-ons is very promising.

He did beat Toledo.
He did manage some other good conference wins.
Am looking forward to seeing NIU improve this year.
I want to see our new coach become more successful.

Hopefully over time, Hammock can rebuild the void of talent Carey left him. When you objectively look at what Carey left behind, it was frighteningly low on talent
