I saw it. Think about it 30 losses in 34 years. Ridiculous. The Browns lost 31 in 2 years!!

Penn State,Kentucky AND Alabama.
Why not just get rid of Kennesaw St. and add Clemson or Notre Dame?
It's a GD disgrace .
I checked the OOC schedules of every other MAC team for next year and none of them even
come close to this crap. Absolutely ridiculous.

I would think if we really take another step forward next year beating Kentucky isn’t out of the question.

What happens to the money generated from these games because it surely is not being reinvested in the football program.
Lowest paid Head Football Coach in the MAC.
The new indoor turf 100% private donations.
Let's not forget last year on President Day when the football staffed hosted a Junior Recruiting Day. Athletic department didn t spend the money to have maintenance use snow blowers to clean the walk ways for the recruits and their parents.
How ever glad we have the highest paid AD in the MAC it takes great skill to sign these contracts for our team to play against physically superior teams

Our program on the other hand has lost 300 games in that same 34 years.

Joey needs to go. He cannot raise money because people cannot stand him. Furthermore, that dept is in shambles. The people tasked with raising money cannot do it because of
Joel
They are not qualified to be in their positions but they are cheap
Their is no experience in asking for the big donation.

Joel needs to go.

Knight will be playing for UCLA in 2020. Best of luck to him.

Instant eligibility? This NCAA system of free agency sucks and so does the lack of loyalty. 03-banghead

PS: I’m guessing he’s a grad transfer, thus no sitting out transfer year.

Well congratulations to him for earning his degree despite transferring from MD to KSU, and good luck with the masters. Just sucks when we lose these grad transfers to the P5 schools like when Stefano Millin went to Pitt.

Makes you wonder how things would’ve gone down had the system been the same when Edelman, Cribbs, Harrison, Nix and others were here and would they have bolted for the big boys that didn’t want them out of high school?

As I have said before. It’s like following a minor league team minus the in season call ups (all though I could see that starting to happen at the semester break in basketball, you know to help the bigger conferences make up for injuries).

Burden, I see the day coming, sooner or later, when athletes can switch schools after every term and can participate in their sport just like any student can participate in extracurricular activities. It would be good for the players but lousy for the fans. It got to the point where I've been less and less of fan over the years. Sure, I follow Kent State because it's my alma mater and I hope they win for the same reason, but my attaching any emotional involvement has declined over the years.

Free agency exists at the professional level, of course. And player transfers at the high school level continue to increase every year. Players no longer want to necessarily play for the high school in the district where their parents live, or for the college at which they sign their first letter of intent or for the professional team that drafted them. That's just the times we live in.

The division between haves and have nots just keeps growing. P5 and G5 might as well be D1 and D2 anymore or at least 1A and 1AA.

RE: Football Offseason
Agree, Polish Hammer. In fact, the gap between the handful of elite P5 and the rest of the P5 schools is growing. Examples - in the early football signing period 5 schools of the 130 signed a MAJORITY of the 5-star recruits - Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, Alabama and Georgia. Ohio State signed more from the "top 100" list than the remainder of the Big Ten COMBINED. The difference, in my opinion, between the top P5 teams and the bottom half of the P5 teams is greater than the difference between those P5 schools in the bottom half and the better G5 teams.

While I certainly understand and appreciate the benefit to the player, when comparing to the free agency model on the professional level, you have to keep in mind pro sports have salary caps, roster rules, anti-meddling policies, contracts, and so on.

That's the issue with this current transfer/immediate eligibility model, as well as the disparities in recruiting budgets, facilities, and coaching salaries on the college level. It's not a sustainable system, in my opinion.

RE: Football Offseason
MACtOAMU, it depends on what a person considers "sustainable". The football and basketball behemoths and wanna-be behemoths will survive very well. What becomes of the rest of D I in basketball and FBS in football is anyone's guess. Lots of issues, not just transfer rules, make the status quo unsustainable for most schools in D I and FBS.
