Smallest FBS I've been to is Tulsa ~30,000.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1Q...1600-w1600

Smallest Non-FBS would be Valdosta St (Div 2) ~11,000

8-man football. Capacity: Whatever 2 or 3 of those small metal bleacher sets hold.

The football field was part of the outfield on the baseball field. They would just take the back fence down.

I've never been in the stadium, but driven past their water "tower" (tank) so many times I immediately thought of them.

Mustang Stadium in Fort Hancock, Texas.

BTW, that line of green below the mountains is the Rio Grande. The mountains are the Sierra de San Ignacio in the State of Chihuahua.

Wow. Didn't know 6-man was even a thing. That stadium still beats what Okay had though lol. Okay doesn't even play football anymore, sadly.

In 5th grade I had to take over at quarterback in that stadium after our starter was ejected after shoving back at a kid (in our little league you got tossed for any unsportsmanlike penalty). My performance due to lack of practice reps was sad.

In high school band we played our OSSAA marching contest there. Boy do I have an even sadder story from that one year.

Old Ownby Stadium at SMU was under 24k. It was a relic from the 1940’s that was used as a practice field during the Pony Express days but after the Death Penalty the school used it as the actual home stadium before the 1996 season when SMU went back to the Cotton Bowl because the WAC required a 30k seat home stadium.

Just the thought of playing Texas, A&M, Wisconsin, Arkansas, North Carolina and others in that stadium makes me chuckle.

It was the year before I arrived, but I thought the Wisconsin game was played at the Cotton Bowl?

The UNC game was one of the first SMU games I ever attended, a warm Saturday afternoon in September (Homecoming no less!). As another example of the circle of life, the UNC coach that day was Mack Brown!

Broken Arrow... where the band is more famous than the football team. I was in orchestra because I'm a contrarian lol.

Only time I went to Broken Arrow stadium was to watch a DCI competition in 2017.

I mentioned Villanova (12,500) and Charlotte (15,314). I'm sure someone here has been to a smaller FCS stadium than both.

As far as college, here's where uconn will be playing once they rekindle their rivalry with Hoya paranoia.

Charleston Southern isn't much bigger.

Y'all haven't seen some of these 6 man "stadiums" for tiny high school programs in Texas. Line out a field in some cow pasture and throw a few small metal bleachers along the sidelines and there you go.

Georgetown's MSF/Cooper Field. Definitely one of the smallest D1 stadiums in the country. Duquesne's is the only one that I think might be smaller now that Jacksonville has dropped football.

There are 10 FCS fields/stadiums smaller than JU's.

I didn't realize Jacksonville U. added a grandstand structure a few years ago. Prior that, it was definitely the worst stadium in FCS imo. I still remember when they beat Delaware in football. That was the official sign the Hens status as a legit FCS power had ended.

Duquesne and Georgetown (until Cooper Field is actually finished) now battle it out for the smallest football stadium in Division 1. Georgetown literally played on a rooftop when they first joined the PL. Their current stadium has been nearly a two decade endeavor.

Houchens Industries–L. T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green KY. It seats 22000 and was a great stadium for high school football championship game.

Georgetown’s Copper Field currently seats 2500 but is expanding to 4000 this spring.

Smallest college football stadium I have been in was Costal Carolina. I worked in Myrtle Beach for a few years and lived in Conway my first year there.

I wonder how many times Lavoy Allen broke that backboard. Where did you go if you don't mind me asking?

What about hoops? Rider's gym holds just north of 1,500, but it's packed all the time and has a surprisingly rocking atmosphere, especially against Monmouth. Lavietes at Harvard and Gola at La Salle are probably the next two smallest I've been in.

I've only seen college football at the Linc, Navy and UB. I immediately stopped considering UB an AAC expansion candidate after going to that place.
