RE: OBJ gave real cash
Could be a problem for those who wish to keep eligibility for next year and those who wish to continue to use their scholarships in the Spring semester to go to classes. Accepting money would very likely jeopardize both.

I do think LSU will respond in some way to that, asking players to return the money, as it both looks bad and sends the wrong message to boosters that they can give out money. It could also prove to be a problem for the head coach.

When matters of the NCAA bring up your school, you have to leave the room and recuse yourself. So LSU's position on the committee wont help.

Just a stupid thing to have done.

Amazing how times have changed since the days of trading your own memorabilia for tatoos. Spare me the "Tressel knew" bulls**t, I understand that.

I really dont care if OBJ handed them all Rolex watches and the keys to a new Porsche. I just sit back and laugh at how thick the hypocrisy is at times like these.

RE: OBJ gave real cash
I'm guessing he didn't hand out any cash, real or otherwise, to second stringers. And I wouldn't be surprised if half their starters are in the NFL next season.

So, OBJ is stupid and egotistical - who didn't know this already?

They can't ask them to return OBJ's money until the bagmen have had time to give them replacement money...

On a technicality: Only LSU seniors would be immune from this issue, unless they had already declared for the NFL draft (I don't think many did prior to the game).

I expect a player or two will be suspended from the 2020 opener, and maybe LSU loses a scholarship or two? Not likely to be a heavy punishment (but then, what do I know?)

In any event, I think what OBJ did was awesome. Good for him, LOL.

When it's all said and done, we're not gonna have much left lol... A lot of our best guys went to the NFL. Meanwhile, Fat guy with skinny arms leaves Baylor for Carolina and takes our co-OC, then Baylor turns around and hires our DC as their head coach. We haven't had to rebuild this much since I could remember. We definitely have the players to go far this coming season, hopefully we get some top quality coaches in to fill these positions.

Yeah, the school will probably have to disassociate from him.

I don't necessarily expect the NCAA to come down on them or anything, but they will require the school do something to save face.

I think any LSU player that still has eligibility left, if proven they took OBJ's money, could have seriously jeopardized their athletic career.

Nothing much will come, but wouldn't surprise me if 2-3 players get suspended of kicked off the team

Most of all, it's a headache I'm sure no one at LSU wants to deal with on the heels of a historic game and season

Thanks OBJ

Yeah he should've known better... Maybe he was just pissed off because he didn't play with an LSU offense like we had this year.

I just saw Aranda to Baylor ... remember all the way back in early November, when LSU was being criticized as an "unbalanced team", great offense but soft defense? Seems like a long time ago, LOL.

LSU is losing a lot of coaches, that comes with the territory - Clemson just lost their offensive wizard to USF, and Saban's staff turns over regularly.

Bottom line is, LSU was #3 in the 2019 recruiting rankings, and is #4 this year. LSU gets an endless stream of athletes, and that's the foundation for continued success. And of course LSU has the budget to hire great coaches to fill the shoes that left. Trust Coach O to make the right calls.

04-cheers

It probably won't be long before the staff at LSU is filled with former head coaches like Saban's staff I guess. Lol. Orgeron seems to make the right calls though, so I have faith we'll land some big names or unknown names that become big names. Who knows, 2020 might be just as good. I'm anxious to see Pancake blocking for Brennan, and Curry/Davis-Price shredding defenses.

I'm not sure that's true. A school has an issue when it allows a player who is guilty of a rules violation to play. That would mean anyone who plays in a game after committing the violation without the approval of the NCAA. Not someone who didn't commit any violation before playing.

Honestly, I'm not sure how the NCAA rules apply in a case like this, but what you suggest seems reasonable. So maybe all that happens is some players are declared ineligible?
