Western Kentucky
Thursday 8:00 in Bowling Green: Western Kentucky (10-6, 3-1 CUSA). CBS SN

Results to date: Tennessee Tech (76-64); Austin Peay (97-75); E Kentucky (79-71); Campbellsville (109-66); Bowling Green (75-77); Illinois St (83-69); Fordham (69-64); Louisville (54-71); Wright St (74-76); Arkansas (86-79 OT); URI (82-86 OT); Belmont (62-79); N Texas (93-84); Rice (68-61); UAB (62-72); MTSU (69-53).

Last game: WKU used a 21-2 run and raced to a 42-24 lead at HT. MTSU woke up the second half but never got closer than 14 pts and the Hilltoppers coasted to the 69-53 win. WKU held MTSU to 36% FG and scored 25 points off 18 TOs. Taveion Hollingsworth led WKU with 18 pts (5-10 FG, 2-2 3s, 6-9 FT), Josh Anderson had 15 (5-6 FG, 5-7 FT) and Carson Williams 14 (5-11 FG, 4-4 FT). Camron Justice missed the game (back injury) leaving WKU only 7 men deep (4 starters 33+ mins, Jarad Savage fouled out in 29 mins.)

Stats: 77.4 pts (vs 71.7); .470 FG (.347 3s); .770 FT; -0.6 RB; A/TO= 0.9

Starters (MTSU)
F/G Jarad Savage (6-5 205 Sr). 32.6 min.; .406 FG (32-89 3s); .900 FT; 5.9 RB; 10.2 pts
F Carson Williams (6-5 230 Jr). 31.8 min.; .593 FG (11-23 3s); .778 FT; 6.4 RB; 13.3 pts
G Josh Anderson (6-6 195 Jr). 25.8 min.; .477 FG (8-26 3s); .794 FT; 3.6 RB; 1.3 steals; 9.1 pts
G Taveion Hollingsworth (6-2 165 Jr). 33.2 min.; .475 FG (9-33 3s); .812 FT; 4.3 RB; 2.9 assists; 13.4 pts
G Jordan Rawls (6-1 165 Fr). 22.9 min.; .439 FG (17-45 3s); .600 FT; 1.0 RB; 2.1 assists; 7.7 pts

Bench
G Camron Justice (6-3 185 Sr). 30.7 min.; .392 FG (33-91 3s); .667 FT; 2.9 RB; 11.9 pts
G Jeremiah Gambrell (6-2 180 Fr). 5.3 min.; .350 FG (4-14 3s); .600 FT; 0.8 RB; 1.6 pts
F Isaiah Cozart (6-7 225 Fr). 4.7 min.; .571 FG; 1.3 RB; 1.3 pts

Another CUSA team going to plan B. All-CUSA center Charles Bassey out for the year alter 10 games, leaving a thin, small team to play out the season (Anderson became the replacement starter). The difference...

With Bassey (7-3):
80.2 pts (vs 71.2); .500 FG (.365 3s); .774 FT; +2.9 RB; A/TO= 0.88
Plan B (3-3):
72.7 pts (vs 72.5); .423 FG (.324 3s); .763 FT; -6.5 RB; A/TO= 0.92

Still, they are 2-0 CUSA at home. The new, small line-up is producing fewer TOs (the low A/TO ratio reflects the low number of assists) and the team still plays a lot of 1 on 1 offense that generates points at the FT line. Note that Aaron Carter will likely be the tallest starter Thursday. Taveion Hollingsworth is a pre-season all-CUSA guard.

Aaron Carver, and by the way I noticed the same thing about him possibly being the tallest starter. Maybe Jeff will have him posting up down low against them, LOL. Giles gets to watch small ball lineups like he enjoys seeing in this game. Hopefully the Monarchs can find enough offense to keep their conference record above .500 assuming of course that the defense shows up.

Tonights game is on CBS SN. I think you can stream through their site if you have the right cable provider. Otherwise you'll need a pirated link.

Men need to take pointers from the ladies. I've never seen so many wide open shots missed.

The team is actually moving and passing well. They miss everything. They need to take green out the game. He’s embarrassing himself at this point
