Makes me feel a lot better about the hire. Seems like a high energy guy with ambition to take his talents to the next level.

Also like that Campbell was also looking to hire him as the DC at Toledo. I didn't like the way Campbell left the team and how it appeared he did not have them ready to play a clinching game against WMU, but have not doubted his ability to identify talent. He made a good hire in Heacock, even though it took longer to turn the defense around that we would have wanted. Took less time for it to get ruined after he left....and that is on Candle. Seems like he make a good hire.... But, just like recruiting rankings - the proof is in the results.

What I find interesting is that it seems to indicate their may be another job out there they are looking to fill - since they have not named Kerhes as the DC. May be that he gets a combined role. I guess it leaves me uncertain as to whether or not there is more to come.
