Flirted with Arkinsaw, now flirting with Baylor. I actually like Blacksburg, but sounds like they found out they're not Easterners.

Ms. Fuente would approve of WACO FREAKING TEXAS?

Place is wretched beyond belief, even after everything Baylor stands for.

Spent a lot of time there have you?

Baylor is an extremely nice university.

Baylor may be nice but Waco sucks. My wife keeps saying she wants to go see the Silo thing and I keep pretending I can’t hear her.

Been there, regretted that. "Oh, a cute little rustic bowl of cotton for only $637."

Well I have no desire to hang out there either but still...

Hell, I'd live in a porta potty for $25 million.

One of the deluxe models though.

Fuente spent a long time recruiting Texas. I'm sure he has a better shot at winning there than at Virginia Tech.

The rumor was she hated living in a large urban city and loved living in the middle of no where. I have been to Blacksburg and Waco and both qualify for the middle of nowhere.

I remember when he was leaving and usual mempho-centric, chip-on-their-shoulder types were bashing her because of that rumor, and thought I recalled from his bio that they had met when he was coaching at Eastern Illinois, so she's probably a farm girl or from a very small town, thus it would make a lot of sense that she would prefer living in a rural environment. To her, living in Blackburg or Waco city limits probably isn't nearly rural enough to satisfy. It wouldn't be to me.

Once you start eating the garbage they call food in that part of Texas, you’ll be living on the toilet anyway.

Sabah will retire in a few years,
Dabo will coach Bama.
Florida State takes over ACC again...so yeah Fuente looking for an out.
He's one bad year from unemployment possibly.
At Baylor, the unemployment clock resets.

I've spent a lot of time in Waco. His description of Waco is fairly accurate.

Waco has over 100k people. It isnt middle of nowhere.

RE: Fuente to Baylor?
Waco.....my grandson went to Baylor and I have been there many times. I have a hard time getting excited about Waco. My in laws lived there and my ex father in law worked for Success Motivation Institute there for a few years. He had a nice house on the lake ....so there are some decent places to live in Waco. But, if you drive down I 35 and pass through Waco...all you remember is a lot of fast food restaurants. Maybe living on the Brazos River is also not so bad. But, my overall impression of the town is that I would be hard pressed to tell my wife, I just won a three day vacation in Waco and actually take advantage of it. You can always go see where the Branch Dividians used to reside.

Who in TF would want to live in Starkville, Aubrun, or Tuscaloosa? Sh!thole towns in the middle of nowhere. Like Waco is an anomaly.

His wife & kid(s) won't be spending the majority of their time on the campus - they'll be spending it in Waco. Huge difference.
If the Fuentes are Catholic, I don't necessarily see a move to a Baptist college a fit for their family - only their checkbook, but whatever.

Most people don't ignore family needs altogether for $, either, especially when it comes to a move.

I wouldn't put Baylor on the same level as Notre Dame, either.
Hey - if that's where he wants to go, fine - I just don't see it being a place his wife would choose over Blacksburg, since judging from past experience she has some input.

OK, I get having to take a step down from The American to the ACC.

But if you can't get it done in the ACC what makes you think you can get it done in a tougher conference (albeit not that much tougher).
