I expect App to be in the receiving votes category, 26-30th range.
They'll likely use the "new coaching staff" excuse to do that.
It may be justified. Lost DC, DL, LB, S, CB and ST coaches along with three of the four starting LBs and both safeties. App's defense could take a step back in 2020.

And App is ranked above Michigan in the Coaches Poll.

Seven G5 teams in the final AP poll. May guess is 2 at the very most in the next preseason poll, but probably just 1.

There's no way App State is preseason ranked in 2020. The polls very rarely give a preseason ranking to G5 teams. Boise State, who is perennially in the Top 25, struggles to even be in the preseason Top 25.

Congratulations to App State! Well deserved recognition. Good to see UL with votes as well. Sun Belt is definitely trending up.

With what App State and Louisiana have coming back, it's possible.
There's also some other teams that bring back a crap-ton of experience, like Georgia Southern and Troy that could be a factor.
We return a lot on offense, but unless we make some changes, I'm not sold that one more year experience will make the drastic changes we need. 2019 was one of the worst seasons we've had offensively, only barely better than the Summers' years.

We received 96 votes at the end of 2018 (hovering just outside the top 25) and we received 5 votes at the start of the 2019 season. With a new coaching staff, I think we will be just outside the 25 or potentially within the 23-25 range.
Those are points, not individual votes.
LSU has 1,550. There are not that many AP voters.

Sadly I agree, most of the “experts” see our season as a fluke and no matter what APP, Boise, ULL do, they will always have the G5 schools outside the preseason top 25

Where did APP start this season in AP poll voting? Even if APP gets also-ran votes that is progress with respect to starting point.

Based on finishes and AP votes in parenthesis here are Apps finishes in full FBS seasons:
2015: 11-2 Camellia Bowl Champion (#33)
2016: 10-3 Sun Belt Champs, Camellia Bowl Champs (NR)
2017: 9-4 Sun Belt Champs, Dollar General Champs (NR)
2018: 11-2 Sun Belt Champs, New Orleans Champs (#26)
2019: 13-1 Sun Belt Champs, New Orleans Champs (#19)
Hoping 2020 is a year we can take it up a notch!

Congratulations to App State. You had a helluva year.
I do believe the Belt will get two ranked teams next year, with health being the caveat, of course. Both App and Louisiana are on the voters' radar now and there's a good chance both are receiving votes in the preseason, which is important.
Here in Cajun Country our coaches believe we will be a LOT better next year. I've got concerns about the ILB position, but other than that we have lots of experience returning.

My mistake, replace the word votes with points.
