Great season for us. Texas in with 5 losses by virtue of beating a garbage Utah team that somehow finishes ahead of us. Rotten to the core.

6 Big Ten
5 $EC
4 AAC
3 Big 12
2 PAC12
2 MWC
1 ACC

The same as the Big 12 and ACC combined, more than the PAC12 and ACC combined. INCREDIBLE.

Outstanding year for the Tigers and the conference. Utah seems a bit high, but to lose and one drop to 17 seems fair to us.

This is huge!

Out of 5 so-called P5 conferences the AAC ranks higher than 3 of them. We're in the top half while the Big 12, PAC 12 and ACC are all looking up at us.

Truth!

Oh, and to the OP, I'm cool at 17. Seems about right, although others seem out of whack.

No wonder Norvell left

Seriously though, all the AAC coaches, ADs and Aresco need to be running with this narrative at every press conference, media day, or any other time they have a microphone in their face.

Switch Michigan and Utah and I'd be happy. No way Utah should be ranked ahead of us, Michigan I'd at least argue with considering how they demolished a good ND team this year.

They're up there. They killed everyone this year. It's going to be interesting to see how all of these guys perform at the next level. I anticipate they have multiple All-Pros on this team.

They would, but they're all too busy writing their own story. These guys are more worried about their careers than creating a level playing field in NCAA. They aren't trying to put AAC schools and SEC schools on a level playing field. They're just trying to get an SEC job and enjoy the un-level playing field. #reality

For sure we watched two future franchise NFL quarterbacks.

This is INCREDIBLE. Still not our best season ever. Our most accomplished ever? Yes. Best season? 1963.

Yeah, I watched that Utah bowl game, and we would have beaten them by 20.

G5 finished with 7 teams ranked. Any bets on how many will be ranked preseason? Where will the highest G5 team be ranked?

Make a note of the movement between the P5 and G5 schools from this poll to the next one. It will be ridiculous.

It's debatable.

We finished 1963 ranked higher at #14. But there were fewer programs then, too. Different era.

Looking at schedules we only played 1 ranked team then - the infamous 0-0 tie with #2 Old Miss. Old Miss finished the year ranked #7.

This year we played 4 teams who were ranked when we played them, and 4 that finished the season ranked. We beat 3 of the 4.

No post season then. Based upon the number of quality opponents, GameDay hype, conference championship, and the Cotton Bowl - I'd give the edge to this as our best season.
