I've very seldom been able to say this, but at least Auburn has another solid basketball team to watch. That'll help!

Well the way too early poll came out several days ago. It was something like 1. Clemson; 2. Ohio St.; 3. LSU; 4 UGA; 5 Alabama.

And the final AP for this year is already out. Although I guess by halftime, it was pretty clear LSU wasn't going to get blown out, so that meant winner #1, loser #2 and Ohio St. #3 and you should have already figured out the rest. Surprised Florida didn't finish #5. Also surprised Wisconsin didn't drop. Thought they would stay below Baylor and Auburn. Auburn went 2-4 vs. the top 10. That ought to warrant better than #14.

SEC won the Peach Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, and CFP title game. First conference to win 4 of the "NY7" bowl games.

The computers will almost surely move the SEC past the pre-bowl Big 12 as the #1 conference.

How is Texas A&M not ranked? Their only losses were to #1, #2, #4, #8, and #14. They beat everyone else, including 8-5 Oklahoma State.

I guess the voters are saying that they don't like teams who play tough schedules.

I feel sorry for those that countdown to the next football season. Plenty of other great sports to watch. Also, more time with the family or whomever

They're saying you have to have real wins, not Aggie moral victories. Their overall schedule strength is only #21 according to Sagarin. Oklahoma St. was their only win over a team with a winning record. In any event, they were just out, at #26.

Part of the reason I’d love Week 0 to become the new Week 1 and for an 8-team playoff circa NYD. CFB is the shortest season.

Week 1 isn’t until like September 5 which is a bummer for the midwest as we’ll get almost no warm weather games.

For me personally, there’s nothing like a warm night CFB game or driving home from a MAC EMU/Toledo/BG (pick 2) doubleheader.

Nothing stacks up to warm night CFB games. They just feel historic in the moment, even if the game’s meaningless, maybe because they’re rare up here.

Yes, I think one reason we all value CFB is that we get so little of it. The season is easily the shortest, running from at most around September 1 to January 1, that's just four months, meaning we have an 8-month off-season. And if you are one of the 50 schools that don't go to a bowl game, your season really is just 3 months, from September 1 to December 1 approximately.

As a USF fan, my 2019 season ended on November 29. Next game is September 5, that is a gap of 281 days, more than 9 months.

In contrast our 2019 season was just 91 days long.
