The great thing is that we all seem to like Burke so far. Let’s hope he gets that W for you folks going to the game tomorrow!

I’m excited to see if the same flavor carries over into his 2nd game.

I’m interested to see how it continues. Let’s be real, just about anything would have been an improvement

Let's just see how it unfolds for a bit. Some of these guys were going to mature anyway like Okauru and Dodd. You could see both of them evolving before the firing. Still, I like the fire from Rob. You have to have expectations period. Nothing good happens without expectations. Nothing, so if it's expected, the kids will respond. That's just how people work. And, it comes verbally so getting that communicated in the right (positive, I'm in your corner) way makes a huge difference even with a mistake. I've coached for a while now and understand that very well. Players do respond to how you bring your points across without a doubt. The best coaches are a part of the team on the floor, you're into it just as much as they are, if not more. I saw that the other night.

Maturing happens naturally. What we were missing was intensity and a winning strategy from the head coach. Players run the offense a coach puts in place. Players play as hard as the coach demands. Players get in optimal condition because the coach makes them practice and train to a high level. Coaches examine other teams and develop a game plan to beat that team and have the players ready for any changes.

Burke said he wanted to play more zone but it needs to be practiced for months to be effective...which means we haven't practiced playing zone under McGrath. Why not? Who wouldn't have that defense in their quiver when we are this overmatched in the post and your best big man is in constant foul trouble? McGrath was in way over his head and I think we're going to shocked how deep.

It wasn't a communication issue. They were doing what they were asked to do. He just had no idea what to tell them.

Game time in less than 4 hours. Excited for this one for the first time since the UNC game.

Northeastern is favored by 7.5, with the O/U set at 136.

So Vegas has us losing 72-64.

For a 2 win midmajor team that hasnt had a win since before Thanksgiving, turnout is fairly strong.

Team hanging tough

You're tied at 18 in a low-scoring game so far with 7:04 left in the half. Northeastern players other than Roland made 1 of 7 threes. In the first four CAA games today, team shot free throws 22-23 (.957) in first halves. This game has had more misses with you at 2-3 and Northeastern at 1-2. Sims hasn't missed and leads all scorers with 8. Tyson Walker leads Northeastern with 7.

It's hard to believe this is the same team that lost by 18 to Elon. With just 3 days of practice under Burke our offensive movement looks fantastic and our defense keeps the game close. Not to mention we are facing Hofstra and NU, not Elon and JMU

Biggest win since Keatts. Only took Burke two games to do what McGrath couldn't do in 2.5 years.

The attitude and intensity of this team is 180 degrees changed. Really fun to watch. And the positive vibes were contagious.

That matters a lot. But without teaching defense and putting together a far better offensive plan we still don't win. This dude can flat out coach. Just took down one of the best coaches in the CAA.

Burke's post game interview with Vacarro was a trip! Can't wait to see him on the tv show tomorrow. Anyone (players & coaches) on the Hawks' bench that can't get excited with Burke around doesn't have a pulse.

Watched the 1 minute 30 second previews while closing and opening the game within the app about 50 times tonight. Man what a win. Burke is fantastic and exactly what you need in this situation. The kids responded and played fearlessly. Fans were incredible.
