First SEC team to go 15-0.

An impressive season and Joe Burrow turned into one heck of a player.

I figured they'd beat Clemson although I imagined them pulling away in the 4th quarter rather than dominating the 2nd half.

A friend of mine I watched the game with put it perfectly...basically everything went Clemson's way in the first half and they were still down by 4 when it ended.

I thought maybe Clemson had a shot when Burrow looked like he might have had an injured rib, but he either played through it or worked out the stiffness, not sure.

All in all, quality season and well deserved.

LSU WR Chase was a pure mismatch. MVP imho

Was worried Burrow was injuried or too shaken for that last hit in the first half. After that third series in the second half, I knew it was all LSU from there

Clemson defense took a hit once James Skalski left the game for targeting.

Congrats to LSU and coach O.

It was an entertaining game in spite of the dubious officiating. The refs are something that the P5 need to get into a room and craft a solution for immediately.

Look the NCAA ratholes tons of money. How difficult would it be for the NCAA to actually spend a dime on football (which they refuse to do because of the OU/UGA ruling) and offer a national officiating crew for the sport by having all of them trained, held to standards, and held to uniform interpretations of the rules.

Part of this PAC crew were those involved in the egregious ruling for which one of their crew was dismissed because they enforced a penalty on the wrong team in the PAC costing that team a score. Another member of that team was the one who threw the Kentucky QB out a bowl game last year when the QB got up from a tackle and brushed the official.

The pecking order for officiating flipped a bit this year.

Last year the SEC had the best crews followed by the Big 10, followed by the Big 12, followed by the ACC and ending with the PAC.

The SEC suffered the loss of a lot of veteran officials at the end of that season.

This year it was the Big 10, followed by the Big 12, followed by the SEC, followed by the ACC, and ending with the PAC.

I would have been perfectly happy with either a Big 10 or Big 12 crew for that game. So why did the NCAA or ESPN give us the consistently worst conference for officiating for the game, and worse pick their most controversially worst team to work it?

Outstanding win for LSU and the SEC. I was VERY impressed with LSU.

As to the officials, I thought they did a more than acceptable job (but I'm not as knowledgeable about this stuff as many of you are ... nor do care as much). Regardless, the officials had no bearing on the outcome, so all is good.

Congrats to the LSU fans who post on CSNbbs and are reading this.

They're awful. The SC/FL game this year was truly despicable and then to have the league totally just pretend nothing was downright insulting to fans. It has to get better.

That was my SEC low-watermark as well for officiating. The only thing worse was reading comments from the Jorts defending it. Karma being what it is, they whined about the zebra a few weeks later in the Cocktail Party. That was my number 3 worst reffed game after TAMU/UGA.

I believe UT was screwed on a few calls in the Alabama game that same weekend as well.

It's not really the incompetence that bothers me so much as it is the arrogance from the league office. Our HC, AD, and President were publicly calling out the league and all we got was a vague statement about how hard it is to ref. No apology, no admittance of the mistake, no corrective action. It was shameful.

LSU is handed wads of cash after the game, then has a trip to the White House to have McDonalds.

How about no cash from anyone, but are served prime rib at the WH? Or at least fed Chesapeake Bay crab cakes.

Better idea:

Trump stands on the field to give them cash. The Cajuns bring the food to the White House?

For all the shots I take at LSU, those people do know how to cook better than just about anybody.
