If he can play at this level and Precious continue to be Precious then have one heck of a one/two punch!

Unfortunately, that's a luxury we can no longer afford.
I thought about that the other day as well and if I recall DJ stated he was fine and comfortable coming off the bench. Perhaps it is just a situation where you let him sit the first minute of 90 seconds and then immediately sub him after the first whistle... But again, it is hard to really make judgement on the past two weeks with the flu. Hopefully, tonight he will have some bounce back in those legs.
When he was coming off he bench the bench was playing a lot better. Love to see his outside shot falling. We also have to recognize DJ is a great passer as well.

Yep, get Boogie & LQ consistent with PA & MD along with Baugh or Alo taking care of the ball, we can beat anyone.

I am starting to get the impression that Lester is hitting his groove. I expect him to be relatively consistent from here on out. He just has that look right now of settling in, his shot looks fluid and consistent and certainly is not lacking confidence.
Baugh, we just literally need him to not turn the ball over. Come in, speed the game up a bit, play hard defense and do not turn the ball over.
Boogie. I just have no idea what to think about his shooting woes. His shot is the opposite of Lester right now. Each release and stroke looks completely different. From all accounts he is a work horse and in the gym all the time. I almost wonder if Penny just needs to lock him out of the gym for 3 or 4 days as if to press the reset button. But the way he moves on the court and the flashes earlier in the year, he clearly can play, he is just in a major funk.

Yep. It looks like he’s trying to hard. Once he just chills out a little it will come to him.

And DJ needs a shot of confidence.
He said it in the postgame yesterday...When he misses a few shots he stops shooting. We cant have that...Forget the last play and keep on trucking.

Lester (and Precious, but especially Lester) plays like he's been in college basketball for years. Getting that foul on Cumberland was a freshman who missed a lot of games giving the raining AAC player of the year, a senior, all he could handle.
Boogie, otoh, seems to be playing like a freshman is expected to. The best thing about Boogie, is you can see he's really good and just needs more time and confidence.
I do wish Jones had stuck around and if it was the staff that pushed him out, I think they made a mistake. Imagine Jones and Quinones and Jefferies with a point guard and Achuiwa.

Thus far, I see some similarity between Boogie and David Wingett. Wingett would enter the game, Miss a 3 pointer or two, and then go to the bench. I hope I’m proven wrong and Boogie gets it together.

You are absolutely right about getting that foul on Cumberland.
Every time they showed Lester during a FT you could see him working the ref about him pushing off. When he hit the floor he looked at the ref like WTF to get the refs attention. Got up put his hands up...And what does Cumberland do...He pushes off.

Very savvy and very high basketball IQ and stayed as cool as a cucumber all night. Very impressive for a freshman to be able to not only stand the physical nature of this game, going head to head with a senior, but embrace it and win the mental aspect of the game against a veteran.

I have been thinking the same thing. Since our next game was almost a week I was thinking they should not let Boogie touch a basketball during the down time. Spend all of his time doing conditioning just to stay in game shape but to reset his brain on basketball.

RE: DJ
Boogie needs to stay off the three point line and become involved as a driver, cutter and distributor. He’s got to be more active in all phases of the game. Fake the 3 and drive and kick. I wish we had NBA stats on efficiency and open shots. I believe more than 70% of our misses are because guys feet aren’t set or the pass takes them off their spot or they’re moving and because they are behind the line they might think they’re open....but if you’re unable to stop and go straight up, it’s a bad shot.
Miller was so good at running around a screen and stopping and going straight up. Our guys seem to be running, leaning, moving, fading, falling, or just not open. It was a bad habit of Tyler’s I have complained about often. God bless Alo, but a lot of his drives don’t create enough open shooters and he’s outta control. Our guys haven’t really gotten the screen and get open sets yet...it just hasn’t all come together....
We rush a lot of shots because the guys closing out are bigger and closer....it’s like they’re focusing on the wrong things in practice almost, or they guys haven’t got it yet.

RE: DJ
DJ is gonna be a killer by the time he's a junior. He can score anywhere on the court.
This team could be scary good in two years if everyone stays, minus Precious.
Seniors Lomax and Harris
Juniors - DJ, Lester, Baugh, Dandridge, Ellis, Hardaway
That core with whoever we add in recruiting is built for a deep tourney run.
