Coaching speculation
With one piece of the puzzle taken care of today, figured I’d start this thread to discuss potential candidates for our coaching job.

I’ll go first, Moten at NCCU

2 20+ win seasons, one NCAA tournament, he was lead recruiter on a top 10 rated class for next season. Let's not forget where State basketball was when they got there. He'd bring back a lot of familiar faces if he gets the job. You don't have to like the names that are posted here, but that name deserves consideration.

I'm not opposed to Siddle, but is State better off than they were in year 3 under Gottfried? With next year's recruiting class, they probably are, but I wouldn't overvalue the first 2.5 years of Keatts/Siddle.

I'm not overvauling what he's done at state... If anything I think his name deserves to be listed because he knows the blueprint of how to rebuild UNCW basketball from the bottom. How much experience did Brownell have when he got the job?

He signed a 7 year deal at 300K in 2018 with UNCG. Couldn't buy him out. We probably had a shot at him instead of McGrath and didn't try.

As assistant to Wainwright, Brownell was the Xs and Os guy.

If a certain donor wants to go back to the Arizona well. They have an assistant with NC ties.

He has a better job right now and would be crazy to leave even it was possible, he is a hot property now.

Former Hawk assistant Jeff Reynolds has been around Trask for games of late. Might he garner some consideration? Who knows?

That put him there after Miller’s drama right? Interesting. As far as State, I agree with Bricks. State is not much better than the past regime, however that could change next year. Not sure he’d be considered simply with the way things went down last time

RE: Coaching speculation
would bob mckillops son, matt mckillop, from davidson be an option? he's been coaching under his dad since 2008 so I wonder if he's next in line whenever his dad decides to step down. Bob mckillop is currently 69 years old

I hope we have learned one lesson once and for all. When we lose a coach because he is taking us to NCAA tournaments, hire his assistant.

Id be worried that if we got him and he was successful, Davidson would poach him as soon as daddy retires.
