You cant criticize him holding onto Buzz too long while also criticize him for not giving McGrath more time

Mullet this seems to be a cake and eat it too scenario for you what gives?

I don't get the criticism of Barefoot either. For our women's program, last year was great. Down again this year, but to the point above, why would we call her tenure a failure at this stage?

If anything this proves Bass has learned to "cut bait" when it's not working instead of clinging on to something that is not working

Besides basketball what major sports are a mess?

Our men's soccer team won the conference this year

He gave Buzz a 4th year which is what you were advocating for McGrath.

You cant criticize him holding onto Buzz too long while also criticize him for not giving McGrath more time
The women's basketball team is also a total mess and I can criticize him making the hire of CB and that is pretty damn obvious-he fired him. Giving Buzz another year at that salary or any salary really was enough to get him fired as far as I am concerned.
The facilites at UNCW are not even close to what they should be and I think he wears all the responsibility there . Drive around the campus and tell me what looks like a D1 type facility to you. The new baseball building and the softball field are about it and he zero to do with either one.

I think having a bad year and being a total mess are 2 different things in the area of women's bball

Your main gripe based on this post and others you have made is facilities.

You cite the softball and baseball improvements yet give him no credit even though he was the boss when those things happened. He has also renovated Trask, which you have criticized

I'm not sure what you would like him to do

For not knowing him personally this seems awfully personal

Just seems weird to admit that you don’t know someone personally, but to continually refer to them as a snake, slug and whatever other critter you come up with next.

You have some issues man. Maybe take a break from the personal attacks on the board.

Actually, that’s not a recommendation. Stop it. Last warning.

I am done with Bass but please spare me with that crap. You are the admin of the board and started a thread to fire the head coach. Do whatever turns you on dude. I will post whatever I feel is right just like you or anyone else on this board unless you bar
me and that is also ok. I am not alone in the Jimmy Bass deal and you know that.

In fairness, he does refer to HIMSELF as a critter. Well, actually The Mullet could be a critter OR a bad haircut....

Mullet doesn't know jack. The more he spouts off the more it's clear. He carries all kinds of opinions about the character of people he has never actually met. He is flat out wrong that Bass found Keatts due to a consultant. They met at gathering of up and coming coaches and hit it off. That relationship brought Keatts here and it was purely Bass who made the connnection and made it happen.

82, I'm curious about the references in this thread that Keatts is still connected to Wilmington. From past conversations, it seems that Keatts and Bass went their separate ways. Is that a false assumption? If he's still connected, is it just through boosters?

He has shown up at the Azalea Festival Garden party every year since he's left. He still has relationships with heavy hitter boosters. I will not rehash what people think he did with recruits, but I can tell you he built really good relationships with supporters of the program and really wanted to see success at UNCW when he departed.

Yet you've called him a "snake in the grass"? That's an awful and baseless characterization to make about someone you don't know at all.

You said it yourself a few minutes prior that Jimmy wasn't the one to hire Buzz. Which is likely true; the Men's Bball HC job is made by more than just the AD. So why does he get the blame for giving Buzz "another year"?

How else are we to view your perspective on Jimmy other than making it personal, given your contradictory opinions and attacks on his character?

Yeah, and that was due to his job performance. I have never once attacked the man personally. I've done the exact opposite. I've praised him as a good man, just not the right fit for the job.

If you can't understand the difference, that's on you. I have ZERO problem with your critical opinions of the job Bass does. I'm telling you that the personal attacks and names aren't necessary and won't be tolerated.

PM me if you have further questions. Thanks.

Which was based on his W-L record and really nothing to do with CG's view of C.B. personally.

So you base your entire opinion on Jimmy as a person on hearsay. That's what I'm gathering from this tirade.

I have come in peace and to make things whole for the Seahawks and Mullet. To appease you all you obviously need a change because these differing opinions are quite dramatic. I would really hate to see UNCW suffer any longer with a bad AD, so here is a deal we can all live with. We will trade you AD's. 1 for 1. You're welcome.

While some, including myself, doubted success from CB at get go, we all wanted to be wrong and for him to succeed. Read Alex's post yesterday about CB. He was a good dude with great character that wanted to succeed. It's very unfortunate that CB didnt work out.

That is a sentiment, I think, fans from all teams can get behind.
