Wait a minute. While someone was pouring an apothic I snuck a peak at this game. Could it be a comeback?

Now let’s see if they have enough left in the tank to get the lead.

Didn't deserve to win but at least they made a game of it late. I had to turn the TV off and listen to the last 18 minutes (so I could hear an announcer in as much agony as me). According to Ty, Williams was throwing up on the bench. So it definitely seems like something is going around the locker room. Williams and Whittington are both very important because they're the two that force teams to leave the shooters and tonight we got very little from either.

With that said, it seems like Miami came out very fired up with a good game plan, so gotta give them credit too.

Disappointing. On to the next one.

Miami needed home win, we came out flat, partially due to flu that has affected some key players. 2nd half was much better. Just goes to show in MAC any given day you can lose if you don't bring it. moving on to Western.

GO FLASHES!!

It doesn't upset me that they lost a MAC game, especially on the road. Nobody though they would go undefeated. What DOES nauseate me, though, is the fact that Akron looks tough. It looks like they're back after a couple of mediocre seasons. If KSU isn't going to be the best of the MAC in any given year, I'd prefer it be ANYBODY but Akron.

Akron is very good this year but it probably shouldn't be too much of a surprise. Groce has already proven he can win in the MAC and 4 of their top 5 in minutes are seniors. The 5th, Jackson, is a 4th year Jr (eligible to grad transfer if he wants). With that level of turnaround on the horizon and them playing really well I wouldn't be surprised to see Groce looking elsewhere after the season. That sounds like a pretty good situation to me. Move on after a good year and take your leading scorer with you.

Kent's not in that different of a situation of course. Three of our top 5 in minutes are Srs and another is a 4th year Jr eligible for grad transfer.

You and I feel the same about that toilet to the west.

Agree, anti-zip. I have no doubt Groce wants another crack at the big-time, and as soon as possible.

I think you guys are dreaming ... Illinois has been paying Groce the first three seasons so Zips - who have proven to be big spenders of monopoly money over the years - probably have a stash set aside to keep him on hand for a few more years.

Jim Christian example is a pretty fresh one, and Groce doesn't strike me as one who would take the same road.

Frankly, it would be nice to see Groce/Sendy get into a recruiting war of sorts building their programs, while also sitting at the top of the league. A win-win for everybody I'd say.

RE: Kent State @ Miami
Why wouldn't he want the Jim Christian road? KSU for 6 years>>TCU for 4 years>>back to the MAC at OU for 2 years>>to BC, now in his sixth season in the ACC with a contact extension through 2022. That's a pretty good career he has going. Frankly, I don't think Groce could achieve that level of success. He might be happy to stay at Akron for the long haul, though that would be surprising. Can't see him going from Akron to a good power conference job though, but who knows?

I’d pump the brakes on the Zippers. Yeah they are 4-0 but they have the friendliest schedule in the league. And no we don’t all play the same schedule. Their four wins are against the west and teams who are a combined 6-10. While they may have turned the corner, I’m not ready to call them the best in the MAC.

Agree, JimJoyce. I'm not saying yet that they are the best in the MAC or even the East. Just that they seem to be "back" after a couple mediocre seasons.

Groce is so far gone that he told a friend "I am not looking at high schools for my seventh grader because we might be in a different state". A lot can change but if he wins hes gone about as fast as Sean Lewis
